Or better yet, why not make them cheaper to draw a customer into the Apple family of products who probably wouldn't have otherwise. Soon that customer will end up buying an iphone, ipad, itoilet, ect...
I'm not knocking their product, just their business practices here in America. My good friend who lives in Malaysia owns everything Apple, but it's also almost half the cost there. wtf? She rubs it in my face frequently

Iphone same as any other smart phone
Ipod i'm not sure but that's only because every other MP3 player fails in comparison
Ipad if i'm not mistaken are about the same as any other tablet...maybe $100 more
Their computers are a litte more, but not that much and are way better than any other comparable PC and last longer which makes the price well worth it IMO.
