Steroids effects on the HEART, a real study on 4 bodybuilders

so is it like being obese?

is too mch weight? no matter where its held the issue?

Obviously fat is worse, but even if you're 10% bf, the body wasn't designed to carry too much weight. It can lead to hypertension and a strained heart.

only in HRT doses, in high doses it aint heart healthy, and beign an AAS forum im pretty sure most guys in here are using high doses lol

i do agree the body size and weight of these guys was surely another contributer, but this is just another factor on top of AAS effects on the cardio vascular system

Everyone here agrees with you but we are saying there are factors than just steroid usage.

come on man, we both know a quick google search will give you a massive list of people who were AAS users and many died of cardiovascular/heart complications

just coz a few are still kicking doesnt give a valid arguement

Playing devils advocate, there are also plenty of people who we dont know where AAS users and are still kicking as well as plenty of people who drop dead every year from cardiovascular/heart complications without ever touching AAS or cigarettes so your argument isnt any better.

Yeah, because that guy who is 100lbs overweight leaving the White Castle drive-thru while smoking a cigarette does not have heart problems as well, right? We all know steroids can cause heart problems, but the bottom line is, it will hardly happen unless you are using professional bodybuilding type doses. Taking grams upon grams of steroids every week is obviously not good for your heart. That is just plain stupid to do unless you are getting paid hundreds of thousands of dollars to do it. I bet if most of the people on here were not juicing moderately and eating healthy, they would be harming their heart in other ways such as eating fast food and doing whatever else.

I guess all I am saying is: pick your poison.

Hmmm..

While I am inclined to agree with Nelson and others who've pointed out the obvious other variables that contribute to an unhealthy heart, I do admit that there is a significant body of evidence that indicates AAS can lead to complications over time..

Yes...due mostly to those variables -- mainly excessive dosages, non stop usage and the excessive weight that results from it. I'd say overweight people are more suseptible to heart disease than some 200 pound bodybuilder who does a light cycle twice a year. (Not to mention what else some of these guys use that strain the heart such as stims, slin and GH).

And as anyone who is familiar with my work knows, I believe dosages of over a gram a week TOTAL is absurd for non pros. If you can't make progress on 600 mgs a week, you suck anyway. And cycles should not exceed 2 months.

Who would've thought that after 10 years of reading back and fourth, we are finally on the exact same page! :)
