In the end, Han and Luke got medals. However, Chewbacca was right beside them and he didn't get shit. They always fuck over the Wookies.

Hard to pin a medal on the wookie.

Also Why does Vadar cry out in Jedi when Luke cuts off his robotic right hand?

Remember when Luke got his robotic hand, the medic bot was doing pain sensitivity tests on his fingertips.

How did Han turn on Lukes lightsaber in Empire? I thought that was activated only by force sensitive beings.

Also, in a lightsaber duel, instead of using the force to throw massive objects at their opponent why doesn't the guy just use to the force to reach over and flick his opponent's light saber off?

Vadar got his a lot earlier. The technology wasn't there. Why would the emperor want Vadar to feel pain after he rebuilt him anyway?

does anyone remember that sorry ass star wars christmas special they aired one year and then hid that monsteriousty from view forever?

Why doesn't he just use The Force to crush his opponent's trachea?

I just think it's incredibly racist (speciast??) for the white guys to get medals but not the wookie. He was even standing 2 steps below Princess Leia. She could have been able to reach out and put it around his neck.

In the books, didn't Han have some latent ability, hence the power of the twins he produced with Leia?

if the jedi are so all-seeing, how come the missed palpatine's deciet?

Something that has always bugged me is that Luke's parents names are Padme and Anakin...his sister's name is Leia. Where did the ordinary name Luke come from?

Luke - roughly means "light" as opposed to "dark"(side of the force)

This really bugs me - In the 3rd movie at the end. Yoda, Obi wan, and some senator dude sit down and discuss how they are going to hide the kids from the dark side. However, In Empire Strikes Back - when Luke goes to leave his training with Yoda and the dead Obi wan is there, he says, "That was our last hope" - and Yoda says, "No, there is another". He should have known that!

when vader had leia arrested in new hope, how could he have not known the leia was his daughter?
so much for "the force" intution

No kidding! Maybe he needs to cut their hands off before he can know.

Something about Star Wars always bugged me. That's probably why I never watched any of them.

Star Trek >>>> Star Wars

Error. Does not compute. :D

(Actually, Star Trek > Star Gate >>>>>>> Star Wars. Something about R.D. Anderson's sarcastic yet naive persona really comes out well.)

fucker.

On a related note - I just read that they have determined that the speed of light is slowed by 16% when it is focused through this "new" sort of heavy glass.
Weird.

Wow... this thread just went from movie critics'r'us to nerd'r'us. ;-)

Why wouldn't it? Even through the thinnest glass, the light is sure to be slowed. The question is whether the difference is enough to measure.

Of course couldn't this mean that if you slowed it enough, things behind the glass could be rendered temporarily invisible (as the light reflecting off the thing behind the glass would take too long to reach the eye of the viewer)?

anyone remember that thread from the training board about chewbacca's estimated 1 rep maxes?
LOL - I was watching a movie a while back where a guy picked up another dude by the neck and threw him, with one hand!

I was like - DUDE, do you have any idea how much that guy would have to bench/overhead press? I have put up nearly 500 raw bench and 300+ OHP and could never do shit like that...

because the other guy has enough force to repel the effort of the guy using the force to remove the lightsaber frmo the hand.
This thread just now rates a 9.75454 on the geek scale.
