Hey guys and gals,

My wife came to me last night and asked if I could help her shed some pounds. Over the last year or so, I have transformed my body quite drastically (bulking though, not trying to loose) and she is getting jealous. She is 5'10" and ~190lbs. She doesn't really look fat by any means, she has a good muscle base, but with working full time and going to school full time, her gym time has almost gone to nothing over the last couple years. Her goal weight is around 130-140lbs, so she knows it will take her a while to get there. So can any of you suggest a diet plan and any supps to help her out. I already planned on her taking ALA, t-rex, 30mins of cardio 3-4X per week and cutting out the sweets and carbs. But she needs a good plan to get her started. Any help with result in some karma. It's only the grey stuff, but hey, that's all I got yet.

Thanks in advance,

G

gab9681,

From what I'm reading, I think your wife would highly benefit from a low-carb diet, if set up correctly. Most women tend to overtrain easier than men, so take this into account when setting up her training regiment. For my part, I would suggest 40%protein/20%carbs/40%fat, weight x 11 in calories for now (fluctuate) plus 1 refeed day ever 10 days 60%carbs/30%protein/10%fat, weight x 15.

Thus:
Day 1-6:
2090 cal per day (190*11)
836 cal from protein, 209 g protein
418 cal from carbs, 104 g carbs
836 cal from fat, 93 g fat

Assume she's taking in 6 meals - per meal:
35g protein/17g carbs/16 g fat

Foods:
Protein: lean chicken, beef, turkey, fish, eggs, protein powders
Carbs: green veggies, beans, oatmeal, yams, sweet poatoes
Fats: almonds, walnuts, all natural peanut butter, flaxseed oil, MCT oil, pumpkin seed oil

Day 7: carb - up
2850 cal per carb up
420 g carbs
213 g protein
32 g fat

Stick to a 6 meal day, first 3 meals high-gi, last 3 meals low-gi. Read my CKD manual (check my signature for www.MMSFitness.com and go to Mr.X's Articles), it has a sample carb-up.
