anyone who's ever taken a psychology class knows there is a spectrum of sexual orientation. No one is 100% straight or 100% gay.

how far they are along the spectrum depends on a variety of things. There are some studies that suggest there is genetic differences, but social factors also play a large part in conjunction.

Your 5 year old example is ridiculous. Of course a 5 year old isn't thinking about gay sex, but at 5, straight kids aren't thinking about sex either. I have quite a few gay friends and many of them would tell you that they've been gay as long as they can remember, that their first sexual thoughts were gay ones. So I'd definitely say it can be nature not nurture.

And gay acceptance needs to be broadcasted. Don't you follow the news? Gay kids and teens shouldn't feel so rejected by their peers and society that they think of suicide as the only way out.

that's over simplification. there's no 1 specific thing that determines sexual orientation. There have been a large amount of studies done, and none can strictly be attributed to a genetic component.

But why were their first thoughts about "gays"? What led them to think that?

And besides theres no fuckin way thats even true. "For as long as I can remember" That is not scientific at all. I wanna see a study saying that this person was born gay and nothing is gonna change him. Then is there a "straight gene" as well? What about a "bisexual" gene? Why arent we finding these?

Yea I follow the news, its an issue that is always gonna be an issue just like abortion and religion. No one is gonna change their minds. If you think suicide is the only way out then heres an idea: dont be gay lol

I didn't say genes were the be all end all of sexual preference determinants. Sexuality is a complicated thing, but just like I can't make an argument that homosexuality is 100% something you're born with or not (which I'm not trying to do, btw) I think it's ridiculous for Glad to argue that it's cause is purely environmental.

i heard if you are exposed to prenatal amounts of gay, you will be gay. thats why its important to only drink manly drinks if u have a boy, and girl drinks like shirley temples if you are having a girl.

there are other things u can do too, like read manly stories, and avoid gay stores like limited and forever 21 while the boy is in the womb
