he can't exercise. his poking fun of your cardiovascular activities is probably a way of denying the urge he;s always had to do such things and/or be good at them, and by making them seem infantile, it allows him to feel better

if you were to beat him in an arguement, it may shatter this and make him feel real bad. so i;d just grin, say 'your probably right' and then give him a noogie or something
