Unless you are toting a 780 GMAT and an high-profile internship with GE (i.e. invited to Crotonville) in your back pocket, a lot of those schools are out of reach.

I guess this is an actual paid/unpaid killer internship, right rob

academics matter, but i've seen many examples now where academics played a little part in admission process. I'm no Einstein but gpa/gmat won't be off their charts either so with that in mind, I'm lucky to have a helping hand I guess and i've seen that hand help others and so i plan to use it. If I won't someone will. Otherwise I wouldn't be targeting 2 specific schools. With that said, I guess the idea of going back to engineering is out the window.

1. Don't go back to school if you want to start your own business - volunteer and assist with a similar business. Look for a mentor.
2. Don't go into Finance
3. Continuing education is fantastic - but you'll get more out of an MBA program when you have some life experience to apply your studies to. I have an undergrad in Finance, and an MBA (without specializaton) - now that I've spent a couple years in my job performing PR functions, I am interested in going back for my second MBA in communications and public relations - but it's because I've found something I am truly interested in; it's not about making money.
4. PS - don't make life decisions such as going back to school by asking people on EF. Figure out what you WANT to do - not something because you think you HAVE to. Maybe alk to a career and education counselor?
