Why do you think sex is hurting your relationship with anyone? Personally, I don't see why God would care whether or not you're having sex with your husband. I don't understand why people make such a fuss about sex in the USA. I know we have a religious freak in the White House these days, but why should everyone else pay the price?

Instead of focusing on something negative, why don't you just pick up a new practice that makes you feel closer to your religious beliefs? No need to give up anything. That could be a permanent change instead of temporarily giving up something.

i love not being catholic. I don't have to give up a thing. :)

That's true.
Islam/Muslims have Ramadan in which on the 9th month of the Islamic/Muslim calander (it's a lunar calender) people will fast (food) during daylight hours and at night will eat a small meal, worhsip, visit with friends and family. It's about prayer, charity and contemplation.

Yes. I'm doing something (maybe 2 things) for the mind, body & spirit.

My 40 days will end with a trip to EA (Yah!)

are you islamic/muslim?
I'm an atheist, but that doesn't mean i don't practice contemplation and charity- I do, just not at any set time.
