smoking vs workingout

I smoke once a day, usually before i workout
wondering how much of a negative impact that has on everything..
eating/gaining weight/etc
or if just smoking before the workout is bad, what about after workout or like in the morning
thanks for any advicee =)

Weed or cigs u mean man?? I know ur not supposed to smoke 30 mins before and after working out because it makes oxygen have a harder time getting to the muscles as fast , someone who knows the science of this will prolly say exactly what it is

well both, but i meant to ask about cigz lol
it feels good smoking one before working out :p i should stop though
does cigs suppress the appetite too?

I don't think anyone should smoke, but I also don't believe I have any right to tell you what to do or not do. If I were your trainer, I'd tell you not to smoke at all, but taking my own thoughts out of it, I doubt that one (ONE) cigarette will hurt your workout results. I do guarantee in platinum and signed in blood, that it also will not help!

Smoke is not good for your health but no one can tell you to stop. Only you can do the right thing for yourself.

You don't want to make it a habit associating working out with smoking because let's say you don't have a cig.. You may not want to workout. But then again I usually like to hang a dip 45 min after I workout lol. So I can't talk.

Is dip bad after working out???

Nicotine constricts blood vessels and the effect generally lasts for at least an hour. That means your heart has to pump harder and faster to circulate the blood so your muscles get sufficient oxygen.

So yes, using any tobacco product before working out, even if it is only once a day, negatively impacts your workout (and is probably just about the WORST time to smoke if you're going to smoke, even in limited fashion, probably the best time would be at the end of the day/right before bed).

Tobacco, or nicotine, can be a neurostimulant that releases epinephrine, but it's also a vasoconstrictor like musclemom said. It's a catch 22. Personally, I don't think smoking is worth it. It is havoc to the lungs and dip is havoc to the gums.

I quit smoking 6 months ago. Difficult challenge. But I had no choice, it was my life or my addiction. My doctor told me that all my effort at the gym was useless if I prefered my addiction than my health. He told me " If you don´t change your mind, you could be buried wearing tennis shoes "
