Sleep

My night is very screwed up. I usually get 4-5 hours of sleep/night and than 3-4 hours of sleep during the day. I am still getting similar benefits that the person who sleeps straight 8 hours does?

I would suggest 7-9 hours a night of deep solid sleep for recovery and maybe a nap throughout the day. Quick 15-30 minute nap can be great for recovery.

:D:D

sleep is good but more is not always better.

if you take an hour nap each day..... you will enter R.E.M. sleep and be grogy and hard to wake back up.(for the majority)

like monstar said.........15 to 30 minutes is great......... it releases growth hormone....... more than 30 and its hard to wake up unless you get 2-3 hours.

like bigsatan said....... you need 9-10 hours sleep........ but i dont think it has to be all at once........ but at least 3/4 of it does.

just what i know

Hmmmm... well, please critique my sleeping pattern. During mid-term week, which is now, i got to be about 4 o'clock everynight, wake up at 7:20 on mondays and thursdays and go to be at 1 until 4:30. On Tuesdays i sleep until 1 or 2. OThursdays i wake up for a 50 minutes class at 9:00 and go to be from 10:30 - 4 o'clock. On fridays i wake up for a 50 min class at 7:20 and go to bed from 9-4.
So, because math is a bitch and i don't won't too make this too hard on you guys:
Mondays - 6 1/2 hours}
Tuesdays - 9 to 10 hours}
Wensdays - 6 1/2 hours} ***All split into intervals of 2***
Thursdays - about 10}
Fridays - about 10}

Wow, now that i look at this my sleeping pattern sucks ass. I wish i didn't have so much fucking work. I guess i will make my rest days on Sunday and Tuesdays because of the lack of recovering time. Without flame, how bad is this spleeping and will it impair my ability to progress in lifting?
Thanks again for all the advice guys, i just don't know shit about sleeping. :D

Everyone has their different sleep requirements. If you aren't tired then you are probably getting enough sleep. Sleeping all at once is most advantagious for your body due to sleep regulatory cycles. Your pattern is irregular which can add to sleep problems. I have had insomnea for about ten years now and only sleep about four hours per night. I have adjusted to it and get along fine now.
