shoulder problems...need some advice

fellas,

ive been dealing with a shoulder problem for 3 years now and its officially pissin' me off...

3 years ago i felt a "slight" pain in my shoulder while benching, i had the presence of mind to stop and finished the workout doing some legs...anyway the next morning i was f-ed. my motion and strength were shot! it didnt see a doctor on the advice of a friend who hurt his shoulder and it healed over time...well three years later my shoulder (rotator cuff) is healed but now look at me. ive got 19 inches guns and my chest looks like Im 12 yrs old. mainly cuz I cant hit my chest good

heres my problem...Im convinced my shoulders operate at differents angels/level. this imcompatibility of my shoulders puts stress on the shoulders on or the other.

ive tried about everything, 2to1 ratio of back to chest exercises, i took 1.5 years off from working out, rotator cuff exercises, tons of presses but anytime I bench I feel an imbalance in my shoulders.

i just started swimming 3x week and hopeful this will bring cohesion with my freakin shoulders.

anybody every feel like this? please help and any advice is appreciated...

peace

I had exactly the same proble. Pre exhaust the chest with 4-8 sets of heavy flies (flat incline or even both) either db, or cable before doing any presses. You won't press as much but it will hit the pecs much better with less chance of stressing the rotator cuff. Bench press is a terrible excercise for rotator cuff injury and I only do it every so often. I find incline bb give less stress and also use dumbell presses and hammers more now for my pressing movements.

Try warming up your rotator cuff by doing windmill rotations with your arms prior to doing bench presses. Also switch to DB presses as this will force you to develope better balance in your shoulders.

I also have rotator cuff issuses and have switched to DB press and cable Xovers. I do the windmill thing previosly mentioned it helps too.
Good Luck. Have you ever taken Glucosamine/Chondrointin or Flaxseed Oil for joints?

I have shoulder problems too! It seems everytime I go into the gym I'd hurt. I hurt myself doing bench about 1 & 1/2 years ago. What I am trying now is Prolotherapy. I had need to the doctors and the cort shots (DON'T DO THE CORT!). Cort shots work for about 3 - 4 months and you're back in for more. I was heading down the rosy path of surgery. That is the last thing you want to do. I know I was a good canidate for surgery because another person in my same situation did it. With prolo you take a shot every two weeks for about 6 weeks and you're done! It's better than being laid up for 6 weeks after the knife! I've only had one shot so far but my shoulder feels better. BTW - The shots hurt like hell!
