Reverse Hyper? Hanibal, anyone?

I would like to construct my own Reverse hyper machine. I was wondering if anyone had any links to help me get started or any tips. Thanks

The reverse hyper on Elite is a little pricey for me.

Hmmm...it seems as if it takes someone with some talent to make a reverse hyper. I do believe that Hannibal is about to purchase a good rev hyper...maybe he can point you in the right direction.

If i may. We have a reverse at my gym that we made our selves. And i dont know if i can describe it to you online but i will try. We used our power rack. We made a platform and had it upolstered with padding to lay across it (the safty bars) the platfom has metal loops that the safety bars slide through so it doesnt move. Then we welded basically un upside down T. And on the side that your waist hangs off of this T slides into the safety bars also. The weight goes on the bottoom were the T is. Then we have a strap or actually a heavy duty dog leash thast we click around our ankles. Now where the top of the T slides through the safety bars it just spins on the rack. You see the T is all welded out of hollow steel. As far as meausemenat not sure i think its 30inches high. That would be from the waist to the bottom. I cant do it now cause this is a borrowed PC but i will see if soemone from my gym will put a pick on here showing a little of what i am talking about. But it was pretty easy to do. But you need a power rack.

Thanks Jay. I have a power rack. Any pics or other explanations would be great. With that set-up I would basically be setting the apparatus on my power rack when I wanted to use it and could easily take it off and move it to the side when finished?

That is exactly right. When your done it comes apart easily. I am in th emiddle of moving as i write this so i have no pics but a buddy of mine just Joined us and i asked him tonight if he could get some pics for ya. But i will explain a little more cause it seems you understood quite a bit so far. Just imagine an Upside down T with a smaller T at the top. The top T as all of the steel is hollow and just slides on the safety bars. The pad you lay on is wider so they do not touch at all. The pad or deck if you will is almost flush on the side your waist hangs from. Get about a 18 inch collar. Heavy duty, and slip your ankles through it. So when you your hanging off the deck your feet are about 10 inches from the bar that hangs at a 90 degree. Then you just straighten your body out and your pullin the weigh tup as you go higher. I will stay on my buddy to put soem pics on here but trust me it works. I dont use it like they do actually hardly at all but all there deadlifts have shot up greatly. And the total cost was just over 100$ that was cause we had it upholstered so th egym owner wouldnt think it looked bad it matches the rest of our equipment. Until i get soem pics up here it least i put some ideas in your head.

Hey IRBD...sorry that I could not have been more help. A friend of mine knows a welder that builds equipment...and I am having one made for around $600...so I can't really offer you any info. Looks like jay has you hooked up anyhow...good luck

Thanks Hanibal. Looks like the one you are gettting is gonna be pretty damn strong and high quality. I'm not gonna be using too much weight on this as I am currently a weak ass mofo and I don't weigh a lot. But that will all be changing for the better soon.

Another question. I was watching on the Westside Video and it seems they have a band coming from the bar you hold onto, to the weight. Is this to add resistance, just like when they use them for box squats and benches or is this necessary to have the normal resistance of the exercise? Know what I'm gettin at??
