Hate to say it but his theology actually has some basis. Episcopalians believe that hell is a place of self imposed isolation from god. So long as you repent your sins genuinely (even if that repentance happens after death), you will be in "heaven" (which is not a "place" to us so much as it is a connection to god in the afterlife). We are all sinners, we all sin knowlingly and unknowlingly. The price was paid for our sins in jesus' death. The key is the asking for forgiveness and accepting god back into your heart (which is mentioned before can, according the the episcopal faith, happen at any time during life and after death).

I know some here find it ridiculous, but I prefer not to believe in a god that woudn't understand that we as people are a product of both nature and nurture. I prefer to believe in a god that loves all his children and mourns those who get sent down the wrong path but welcomes them back into His arms even in the afterlife if they are capable of asking for his love and forgiveness again. I agree except i dont think an afterlife you can do that, because everyone will realize in their afterlife that they will be going to hell. When you die you either go to heaven or hell
