I wonder what their hourly wage is? I mean, WTF is up with the tip jar on all of their counters if they are getting treated so well for NO EXPERIENCE and NO EDUCATION and totally unskilled labor?
Maybe I should look into getting a job pouring cups of joe.
Mine are still bigger and I am old enough to YOUR MOTHER.
The opinion of a 19 yr old girl that is obviously not too difficult to impress is about as valid as the opinion of one of the stapler that sits on my desk.
that 3 year certification is basically a college degree, you understand that right? when I say "degree", it doesn't necessarily mean a piece of paper from a university. But some sort certification that say's you've put the time in and know what the fuck you're doing........that's a must. I'll bet you busted your ass during that certification too, I heard Para. cert's were brutal.
Actually, you are SOOOOO right. I was doing 36 hour clinicals(nonpaid) going home to sleep 6 hours, showering and eating in 2 hours, and back to the hospital or ambulance after an 8 hour break for another 36 hours of clinicals. Rinse. Repeat. This is how you spend the last 6 months of paramedic school.
At one point, I even passed out, face-planted on the floor. I fractured my chin and got 28 stitches in my mouth from my lower lip being ripped from my face. Emergency doc said I passed out from malnutrition and exhaustion.... so, yea.
Paramedic school isn't a walk in the park.
