Quick question about 5x5.....How long?

Like the topic says, how long should this routine last before the results start to level off? I'm in my second week now and it's working GREAT for me. Just wondering how much more time I have to look foward to more strength :)

Thats a hard question for anyone to answer.

Basically when you come a plateau and it will come as it does with all programs. You will need to decide whether its program that needs to be changed or some aspect outside of the 5*5 that needs to be amended(like nutrition or more recovery between workouts etc).

itll be different for everyone. im in my second week as well and loving it. hopefully these gains last for a lot longer.

Just keep doing 5x5 and when you start to plateua take a short break and try a different routine... Variation is the key

5x5 is looking like a nice chsnge from DC... Anyone else agree?

Yes, it would be a nice program to change to. Like I said on your other thread, take a week off for food and rest, then hit 5x5 hard.

Thanks for the replies guys!

5x5 is definately one of the best routines I've ever tried. The only other Bench routine i've done that comes close in strength gains would be something I use called 10x8x6x3. That also works VERY well for me. I'll probably interchange the when the other starts to level off....

That being said, since my 5 lb increase from last week, the weights are feeling lighter and lighter everyday. Can't wait for a couple more weeks when i'm repping 245 for my last set of 5 :)
