Question about my weight loss

Ok so I've been using this website called LiveStrong to keep track of my calories burned and consumed each day. The website says I need 3,143 calories a day to maintain my current weight. I consume about 1,000 calories a day, and burn about 1300 in exercise. That means I am about 3,500 calories below what I need to maintain my current weight. So I should be losing about a pound a day if I'm correct right?

Nope. It means that body will begin to STORE food you eat because it is preparing itself for starvation. You need to eat more food. More is NOT bad. Just make sure it's below maintenance. Shoot for 500-800 calories below. So eat at least 2300 a day and you will lose weight.

Yeah understandable that my body is going to start storing for starvation, but if im burning 3.500 calories then they have to be getting burnt from somewhere?

Your body will store the food you eat in fat cells and break down muscle mass to use for energy. The end result will be a soft, skinny-fat body that looks horrible. I would not do this.

But the food i do eat is mostly carbs, so wouldnt my body be using the carbs for the most part and not tearing away the muscle. I still go to the gym and work my my muscles 4 times a week.

Not meaning to argue with you. Just want to be sure that all the info i get is as correct as possible.

dipping that low in calories should be reserved for a time when you are already lean (sub 10%) and going for even leaner.

Well I've been doing this as an on and off thing. I will do this for 2 weeks, then up to a 2,000 calorie diet for a week, and back down. I lost 20 pounds doing this, and then waited 3 weeks on a normal 3,000 calorie diet to see if the weight would stay off, and it did. Maybe my body works in weird ways, but this seems to allow me to lose 5 pounds a week for 2 weeks and not have any issues.

If that's the case, then why did you ask the question?

The question was if im hitting the 3,000 calorie burn mark a day, would i be losing a pound a day.

The only answer i got to that question was the first post which said "nope". But what i dont understand is if 3,500 calories = a pound, then to my understanding it should be a pound a day.
I'm aware that there is going to be muscle loss, that is why i still weight lift so that i counter act that to some extent. But i just want to get a clear answer on my question.

It all depends. There is no way to calculate exactly how many calories you are burning every day. Especially if you are encountering a metabolic slowdown.

There are so many factors that come in to play. But the quick answer is no, just because you are creating a 3500 calorie deficit (in theory), doesn't necessarily equate to 1lbs of fat or 1lbs of weight loss per day.
