Quassi Strong Man events for increased fitness levels... how does this setup sound?

I just chopped down a shit load of trees in my back yard which is on a ravine.... Anyways... I've been considering doing some strong man events for conditioning and for fun for a while....

Heres what I've got/going to do....

- I have a nice big log I'm going to cut some handles into for overhead log press... going to make the ends capable of having olympic plates slid on it in case the log gets too light.

- I have two almost identicle sized longer pieces of log that I'm goin to make handles in with the capability to add olympic plates to for farmers walks

- My gym has a massive tire in the back... I'm not sure what it weighs, but they said I could have it for tire flips

- Got a nice sled that has never been used which Im going to dump a shit load of weight on and use for sled drags

- I have a ravine in my backyard with a nice steep incline... I'm going to fill a backpack up with 100lbs and do hill climbs


I think i had another idea but Im drawing a blank right now...

I am also doing DFHT.. I still have to check with AM to make sure this is OK.. but I'm thinking about doing this every week with about 3-4 buddies as some extra excercise for fun...

Can you think of anything else we can do clint or anything strong man type guys?

B-fold is the man you need to talk to about that. Thats his thing and hes extremly good at it. I'm sure he will see it sooner or later. He will hvae alot of good info on it.
 
i like the hill climb idea, i was thinking about doing that at my high school, there is a huge hill that is used for sleding in the winter, but in the summer the football team uses it to bear crawl up and down, i think ill just strap 100 pounds on my back and do up and down til i drop :D
 
This is more than a hill.. this is like loose dirt with misc vines and other things.......... But Im sure a hill would do just as good

Log and Farmers....sweet!!!!! Any idea on tire size???

Sled, etc...sounds kool. Uphill climbs will be fun. Do them with the sled, farmers uphill. If you have big blocks of wood...you can just carry the wood uphill too!!!! Bear hug it and carry it, run back down and farmers walk back up, run back down and sled drag up.

Strongman is supposed to be fun. Training is supposed to be fun. THIS sounds like FUN!!!

I'm gunna start making my stuff tomorrow so I can hopefully have my first day of it on sunday...

I think there will be 4 of us doing it... we are going to record our reps/weights/times every week and try to beat every one every week....

Should be fun...

I am gunna get workin on those logs in the next day or so... hopefully will have everything ready by sunday.. will have to snap up a couple with my digicam
