Pumping Iron and Total Rebuild

Damn i just got these 2 videos and they are awesome!!...they are so motivating..but at the same time I now realize that Arnold has been the most famous and perfect body builder in history...his simetry, proportions, definition, genetics and size are uncomparables. They don't make humans like that anymore...Arnold was something like the first bodybuilder that started to use the "brain" to achive his goals. Concentration and using the reason to focus on his goals was part of his success. Everybody has to see these movies. The way arnold used to pose was amazing..his movements were unique. Life at that time was so wonderful...those guys had time to eat, train, sleep, sleep, and sleep. My only eternal doubt is how they got so big with so little knowledge and research at that time about nutrition and with so little research about steroids. When you see a typical guy like one of us, sometimes we have no less than perfect diets, every gram counted, using perfect cycles, with every proven dose and formula but most of us don't get any closer to what these guys were at that time...I think it was in part their lifestyle.
Anyhow, you have to watch these videos guys...you'll fall in love with BodyBuilding.

whenever I feel like slacking on the gym, five min. of Pumping Iron is enough motivation to get off my ass. Never saw Total Rebuild, Ill have to check kazaa..

pumping iron is great never saw tatal rebuild though gotta ck it out i think genetics and basic balls to the wall training had alot to do with arnolds sucess

You're right man 5 mins of that and I'm running around my house doing posedowns. The DVD has some awesome behind the scenes shit too.
Thanks for mentioning the other vid, I'll order it this weekend.
~Peace

Yeah bro....they are simply awesome..total rebuild is as great as pumping iron. Total rebuild is from 1980 and this movie is about arnold getting back to competition in Mr. Olimpia...After like 5 year being retired. And guess what. He won!!!!....the pre contest interviews, the comments of the new guys inspired in the old Arnold are amazing...and the moment of his triumph is unbelievable...
I have to see that shit again right now.

Everytime me or me and some of my freinds watch pumping iron, it turns into a flexing/posing contest. Its really quite rediculous, and if somebody saw us, they would probably think that we are fuking obsessed with working out(which we are, but thats besides the point).

Yeah, he was down from 245 in the 74 O, and 232 in 75 (Pumping Iron) to only 225 in Total Rebuild. He was still in incredible condition, hard as a rock, and the best guy up there that day (Mentzer had no chest development, I don't know why he bitched so much). I would say the lowered body weight, and the fact that he no longer had the desire for bodybuilding anymore.

Joe Weider, Franco and the dir. of Conan convinced him to do it about 3 months before the show. They all thought it would be good for magazine sales, and publicity for the movie (Conan star fresh off Olympia win).

Either way, himself or not, he won, and deserved to do so. The rest is history....

when Mike Mentzer died and what was the cause??

Yeah Mike died of a heart attack in his sleep. His younger brother Ray died the very next day. Mike was natural causes, they aren't too sure about Ray.

damn i was wondering if it was steroids related...

hey wait...who the fuck put that phrase over my avatar?????

shit i never even heard of total rebuild.....

i think if bodybuilding was more like it was back then, I would be a lot more into it.....

the posing was great, I watch some of the posing today, and it is garbage.

it's all about mass that is beyond freaky, which i just can't appreciate.

I don't think it was steroid related. His mother died of the same thing in the late 70's. His brother had health problems that were related to his drug usage.

Arnold's win in the 80 olympia was a gift due in no small part to his hero status in the bodybuilding world.

He was not in near the shape he was in 75 and 74.

But still he has the simetry/proportion to beat the other guys...

He wasn't his best, but he was better than everyone else there that day. Mentzer had zero chest development, and came in 5th, he shouldn't even complain. Zane was bad due to an injury. The only guys who came close were Coe and Dickerson. But Arnold was in such great shape, even if he wasn't his bigness, that he deserved the win. Whenever I see the contest or pics, I don't see why people make such a big deal. He was the best there that day.

sadly , Mike was a speed freak.....:(

he used to sleep in a VW bug next to the gym, with a trunk full of juice, and speed

that is the rumor and its too bad, I hate seeing smart people suffer

and I think this is what did it........

as for the 80 Olimpia during prejudging Mike looked better than Arnie, but SOMETHING HAPPENED later when he went to the actual show.......

did you know the mentzers? seems like you have alot of info

no,
but my freind who owns a gym chain worked with him
and he is not prone to exaggeration.......

some times smart people are so smart that they actually sabatoge them selves

The one brother died of heart problems and the other killed himself thereafter, I remember it because it was the only thing I ever read about those two, it was a long memorial, by someone who knew those two...
