Protein While Training

if your workout is long (2 hours or more) then go ahead and sip on a carb or carb/protein drink... for shorter workouts, it is best not to have anything before (1.5 - 2 hours your workout until about 20 min after your workout) your body will be working enough at the all important task of delivering blood/oxygen/nutrients to your muscles and digestion will just take away from this process

i agree with max in saying that your meal/shake that immediately follows your workout should be high in carbs... the next one after that should be higher in protein...
