Protein Shakes?

Hey ladies, some help here please?
I am going to start taking protein shakes, but I need to know what is good. I have tasted some of Pauly's, and believe you me, some taste nasty as hell! So are there any decent tasting ones out there for me?
 
OPTIMUM NUTRITION

I've been training for 7 years now. So, let me tell you that I tried many many brands of whey protein. The best taste for a good price is Otimum nutrition. Of course, something like myoplex has a very good taste but the price is kind of high too!Optimum has only 2.5g of carbs and 1.5g of fat!!! 22g of protein by 28g.. I take about 3 shakes a day so the taste and the price are reallllllyyyy important for me!

As far as TASTE goes - I like ISS Whey protein in vanilla! I look forward to drinking that one....
 
i personally have a liking for Prolab Chocolate... and have heard great things about the Mass Quantities...

One important thing to note is that any protein shake tastes better when served blended with ice... buy one of those cheap hand blenders (they will blend ice, they will not last forever if you use them to do so, but that's why they're cheap)...

i have a few of those things (one at work, a couple at home)... they're great...
 
you can also add different things to them to make them more like a smoothie type drink... fruit etc...

i make a chocolate, peanut butter, banana one that is great...
 
MMmm, sounds deee-licious! Yeah, I think I'm about ready to start drinkin' these things cause lil' ol' me needs to gain some weight in order to get some more mus-kles! Right?! ha ha. Another thing ladies, how much should I take? I only weigh 105-107 (I'm 5'5"). Should I take one of those big cups 3 times a day??
 
Ummmm.........I don't know?? Sorry, I don't know too much about this stuff! Pauly tries to keep me informed and teach me things, but its somewhat different btwn men and women. I want to gain some weight, not too much, maybe 10lbs???
 
When you start taking protien shakes, they all taste gross in my opinion. But you develope a taste (or maybe I should say tolerence) for them. Then some brands don't seem as bad.
 
make sure you don't use them to replace real food, they're good to supplement with...

if it is a protein mix (whey protein is the most popular) a regular serving is good (usually the label will tell you how much protein is in a scoop) you should be aiming for your weight (you can use your ideal weight if you want) * about 1 to 1.5 grams of protein a day... so you just need to calculate what you aren't getting from your diet (which should be the majority of your protein) and use that as a basis to go from... it's a good idea to ease into adding protein to the diet.. your intestines and other inner workings will appreciate it (and you'll be less likely to share you're inner enviornment if you know what i mean (fart if you don't ))...

it's pretty hard to overdose on protein, your stomach will probably let you know when enough is enough...

if it's weight gainer (which is a high calorie protein/carb/fat mix) or MRP (same thing, generally less calories) then i'm not sure on the dosage, but i'd follow the same principals (ease into it)

the protein shake that i absoulty loooove is American Whey, Chocholate,,,,,,but its hard for me to digest so i stick with Isopure,,,but the American Whey taste like Nestles Quick,,, blend it with some ice and mmmmmmm mmmmmmmmmm goooood!!!

NEVER EVER try the "Joe Weider's Pure Beef" (vanilla flavor) . You cant even imagine the taste. This thing is sooooooo nasty!!!!! I bought 1 Kg of it, that was 2 months ago and still haven't touch it after that first glass... Thinking of it gives me Goosebumps...!

I like the "Weider 90% Protein" (vanilla as always).
