protein before/after a workout

right now I am using 50g of my protein powder with a banana after my workout. I also do half that protein and an apple pre workout. I seem to digest protein powders good so i feel like it helps me during my workouts. should i change this up or keep things the same? I'm 22 and learning this stuff.
 
i would not take protein powder before a workout. your body has to digest that during the workout and it will take away energy from your workout

also i wouldn't take protein powder at all. REAL FOOD beats fake food. your body knows the difference. i would want to know your schedule but if you worked out later in the day and wanted to eat before. eat a meal 2 hours+ before. something like 2 eggs and fruit. and try to eliminate before the gym
 
I would not have it before your training. After training, if you can, just go home and eat a proper meal of real food. Shakes are low quality fake food.
