Protein and CKD

"They" say that to much protein can knock one out of ketosis so its crucial to keep your fat intake higher than your protein.

How is this to be interpreted? Are we talking Fat Grams vs. Protein Grams or are we talking Fat cals v. Protein Cals? I assume its the latter?

For every gram of protein consumed, you'll want to have one gram of fat. That generally works for maintaining a ketonic state.

I always just keep my proetin to 1 gram of proetin per pound of bodyweight, then teh rest of my cals come from fat. I ussually get 150-160 grams of fat and 180 grams of proetin and stay in ketosis very easily.

We are talking about protein calories as a ratio of your total calories consumed. On average, going over 30-45% of total caloric intake will kick you out of ketosis.

You are correct; too much protein WILL kick you out of ketosis by having the body convert the ingested protein into glucose via gluconeogenisis (actually convert certain AAs to be exact). So, you might want to steer away from protein overloading if you're concerned w/ being in ketosis.

Dammit! Right now I'm about:
66% Fat
2% Carb
32% Protein

Time to do some reworking :p

That would work fine; in fact, if you're in ketosis and this is working out for you, go ahead and do it.

Actually I'm a broke bastard right now and I don't have any test strips so I really have no way to know. I've been shredding some water weight so I guess until I can get some strips, I'll be clueless.

Look for metallic breath and body odors and urine smell, those would be sure signs.

Would taking Rala maybe after i eat help with this high of protein being digestion at all?

Ala would help w/ the carbs being ingested, not protein. It can only help you with glucoses fluctuations.
