Propecia (finasteride) for hair loss?

I've been on proscar (5mg finesteride) for over a year now for BPH and have a few cycles while on. I can tell you there is a HUGE difference regarding hair loss when I wash my hair you can count how many hairs fall out. When off finesteride I can't because there's so many...

Really? I don't understand that because male pattern baldness is supposed to be a slow processes where the hairs grow back thinner over time until they can't grow anymore?
Anyone else used fin for hair loss? I'm considering it if my hair loss gets worse within the next year so want to hear some real reviews re sides ...especially if any sexual sides.
Honestly, havnt tried it, so I couldnt tell you. I thought I might throw in though that I have been using N2 Shampoo - blocking DHT in the scalp.
I figure screw it, I shower everyday, and its one thing I cant forget to take haha.
Seriously, I had a balding spot on the front of my head, (not completely bald but thinning) and it really has shown a difference from when I started. Its out of stock now unfortunately but if you ever get a chance you might as well give it a shot, its really worth it.

Been on generic Finasteride for five yrs now. It does make a difference, specially if you are "gearing". I had some libido loss and lethargy for the 1st couple of weeks, but then it went away...now horny as ever
I have a 90 day supply of 5mg, I cut them in half, so is a 180 day supply. The truth is that you only really need 1mg.

Mind me asking how old you are and did you take it for hair loss?
Is your sex drive high and could that be from gear?
I just don't get how inhibiting the most powerful sex hormone (DHT) can not reduce sex drive. Of course, I want it to be true because i want to keep my hair.

You mean how young am I?...32. Yes, I took it for hair loss, and it has worked to stop more shedding. My sex drive is always high, but with gear, boy I will leave it to your imagination!
Some men have problems with Finasteride and libido loss, others re-gain their libido after weeks of Finasteride. I'm not sure about the pharmacology of the drug, but I can tell you that every man responds different. There are anecdotal stories that some men actually get a libido boost from the drug! DHT may be powerful for sex drive, but it is not the only sex hormone in the male body. Just try it at 1mg per day and see how it works for you.
