Prohormones for women

Can I use a prohormone and get results? My understanding is that I do not have enough of the enzyme that is utilized in performing the carbon break that changes the prohormone into it hormone in the body? What do you guys think of the estrogen blockers that are sold in stores like GNC?

A topical 19-Norandrostenediol product produced noticeable strength and vascularity gains in my GF. She used only 1/5 of the recommended number of sprays, twice-a-day, and still got good results. Also, current thinking is that 19 - Nor products are much less likely to produce masculine-like effects in women than 4-Androstenediol products (although my GF has used a topical version of it too, same 1/5 dosage of sprays twice-a-day, with good results).

There is also some credible evidence that the oral cyclodextrin versions of these same prohormones can be effective, albeit with shorter spikes in the affected androgenic hormones. Anyway, hope this helps...

Where do you get topical nor-andro? Have you ever heard of Estrogen blockers? They are sold at GNC or places like that. I recently met a women who swore by them. Just wondering your guys take on this?

Hi Rasta,
Chrysin is the OTC supplement used for this purpose.

You may want to check out Tamoxifen or the newer high-powered anti-estrogen complexes: Faslodex or Arimidex (you'll need a scrip from your doc for these.. and he/she will give you all the contraindications). These are extremely powerful agents and are normally used for post-menopausal women (so, use only under the strict guidance and review of a physician).

Hi Plex! Thanks for responding. Do you think a physician would prescribe these to me, seeing how I am only 24 and am just looking for a way to enhance my physic without using AS. I was hoping to get something OTC, because it would be easier to get and a lot cheaper than anything black market. Any ideas?

I do basically what Cardinal's GF does - small doses of topical Nor-Andro spray (Ergopharm). It works really well. I've read that Di-Indolin (which is OTC) might help on the anti-estrogen side, but I still don't know a lot about it. Maybe someone who's used it could offer an opinion.

Hi Rasta,
Try the Chrysin. You can get it almost anywhere bodybuilding supplements are sold. It's kind of expensive. Expect to pay around 50 cents per tab.

good luck rasta!

Thanks you guys. The information is very useful! One more question, does anyone know if the estrogen blockers, chrysin, will interfer with my depovera (birth control, progesterone) shots?

You guys are the greatest :D

Rasta,

I seriously doubt chrysin will interfere at all with your depo shots, especially since chrysin's benefit is highly debated. I'd say the majority of recent studies show chrysin to be of little, if any, benefit as an anti-estrogen.

If you have health/prescription insurance I'd go with Plexus' suggestion of the prescription Arimidex or Faslodex after talking to your doctor. If your doc isn't a hard-ass and you're honest w/him about what you're wanting to do and the reason for using the anti-estrogens, then you'll find some of docs to be accomodating. Stress to him that you'll be using completely legal prohormones.

If you have no luck w/a doc or don't have a prescription card, then just take low doses of 19-nor and you likely won't experience any problems. Just carefully watch for any signs of masculinization (increased facial hair, voice lowering, clitoral enlargement) -- though the chance of such is very low. Keep your cycle to no more than 4 weeks, then 4-6 weeks off. You could also try popping 100g of 4-AD/day which could help w/gains, but at least may increase your libido...if that sounds fun. :D Good luck!
