proetin shakes

This may sound like a dumb question, but when you guys calculate the amount of meals you eat in a day, do you count protein shakes as a meal?

yep,so if your going to have 6-7 meals a day,hit a couple shakes in there.they're convient as hell.it's tru it's beter to try to get most of you nutrition from real food sources, but to meet your goals the shakes are considered a meal........;)

I agree its the only way to be sure you are meeting your requirements.

Not dumb at all bud, I count my shakes as meals whether I eat something with them or not. Shakes run typically 20-60 grams of protein per, depending on the brand/type. Anything that high in protein should count as a meal.

Keep in mind that (IMO), there are two different kinds of protein shakes. The "regular" ones like I use that are higher protein, lower fat, carbs and calories. Then there are the "meal replacement" type shakes that vary in protien content, but usually be higher in the others.
