problem with playing DVDS on Windows XP. please help

i installed windows xp a few days ago and now went to play a dvd... but there is something wrong with the picture... like the top 1/5 of the screen shows the dvd front page and not the actualy movie. ive never had this problem before. anyone know wtf is with this?

I recently upgraded from ME to XP and could no longer play DVD's. Turned out that the factory DVD drivers for this brand were incompatable with XP. I had to call the manufacturer and they sent me a CD with the right drivers. Check to see if your manufacturer has a web page for upgrading your drivers and you might be able to download them there.
