pro diets

Nelson Montana said:
For what it's worth, when I interviewed Craig Titus he said all he cared about was getting protein and everything else took care of itself. Dareem Charles told me he'd sometimes miss meals and eat whatever was in the refrigerator or have a protein shake. The stories of these calculated diets are for the most part, a bunch of fabricated bullshit.

I would have to agree

also if your are a number cruncher you really have to apply almost a physicians touch to it.

Like you wouldn't take free gear?! lol

I'm not sure any supp companies are making that offer just yet. :)

I think just about every supp company would (well maybe except the protein factory :) ). More like the hear no evil see no evil thing. they want their b4 and after shots for their supps. they probably just give them money for it and tell them to do with it what they want. many times they are in offseason but how do they get ready for the contest......gear.

Of course. But the supp companies don't supply it! They know the pros will get plenty on their own.

The closest I could find in Arnold's encyclopedia book is listed below. He had an earlier book, "education of a bodybuilder", i think. 8oz milk
2 slices of whole grain bread with butter
1 piece of fruit

Shake:
16oz milk, 8 oz whipping creme, 6 raw eggs, 6 teaspoons of lechtin. Flavor as desired.

Lunch:
1/2 lb of meat
2 slices of whole wheat bread with butter or mayo
8-16 oz milk
1 piece of fruit with cottage cheese

Shake

Dinner:
1/2 to 1lb meat

corrected. but it still had his ideas/input?

Who knows how much? Most of that stuff was done by the Weider staff writers and it contained what Weider wanted it to contain. Do you think if Arnold said "Aah, I eat hamburgers and beer" that it would have gotten in the book? It was meant to sell a concept using Arnold as the endorsee. Arnold would have done anything for Weider (and money) back then.

arnold wrote the encyclopedia of bodybuilding,
It's been revised a few times.
I had a early edition but passed it on about 10 years ago to a close friend to give to his son that had just got into bodybuilding

Arnold even said it the book he follwed a strict diet for 9 months while training for the MrO then in his time off he enjoyed regular everyday food just like everyone else.

I rember the ratios of fat were high by todays standards, whole milk, whole eggs, whole creams and so on , I think arnold was not a big advocate of carb cutting and dropping calories to lose fat. His solution if I rember was working out twice as hard
Then 6 weeks out from the show came his double split programs 1 1/2 hours in the morning and 1 1/2 hours working out in the evening with midsection, calves and forarms every day for the 6 weeks up to the contest.
To burn fat and tighten up along with tanning everyday, suana and steamroom to keep his skin tigh clean and flushed out.
But you have to remeber he could do all of that stuff, It was his job from 1971 to 1975 full time bodybuilder
