Preworkout meals?

Hey, I just wanted to know what you guys use for your meals before your workouts. I want to know what's good and what I should stay clear of.

Usually try to eat some kind of slow buring carb such as oatmeal or I use brown rice sometimes depending on the time of the day when I lift.

what type of diet are you following? what type of training is presumed(weights, cardio, light, mod, heavy)?

I'm trying to put on muscle. I've been trying the 55 carb/30 prot/15fat diet. And I've been using all weight training. No added cardio other than the 15 minutes walk I take to/from the gym.

typical meals:
1: 2 cartons egg beaters (48g protein) with 1 slices peppermill turkey, 3/4 cup oatmeal
2: myoplex ready-to-drink
3: turkey on rye bread with mayo/mustard
4: (pre-workout) 1/2 cup oatmeal, 1/2 cup fat free cottage cheese, cinammon, myoplex original protein powder mixed with water, 1 tspn natural peanut butter
5: (post workout) myoplex original protein powder mixed with water, banana
6: (post workout meal 25-30 min later) chicken breast , 1 potato, broccoli
7: apple, 1/2 cup fat free cottage cheese, cinammon

with the meals I've been drinking either water or crystal lite lemonade

I had turkey last night post workout. Is that bad? And is oatmeal bad post workout? I don't know the rules on meals and timing.

I would say you have a rather solid diet. A choice of banana and preference of myoplex to real food might not be the optimal choices, but very sensible nonetheless. My suggestion would be to for the last meal to have meat/fish steak with 2 tbsp flax/fish oils instead of what yo have in the current routine. You don't need carbs for sleep, and EFA's are always good given your diet does not have substantive amount of them.

one of the better diets I've seen posted.......maybe a tad shy on EFA's (toss in some peanuts bro), but very good............
