Predictions for 2010 Mr Olympia?

Who do you all think will take it this year? I think Branch Warren would be in with a shot if he can bring up his arms a bit more and get more size on his forearms, maybe a little more back too. His chest, shoulders and legs are awesome...

I also think if Jay can some in like he did in 2001 (Jay was awesome in 01) or like he did last year he could maybe take a fourth too...

yeah phil has potential, wether he will be crowned this year or not I dont know

branch on the other hand needs more arms especially forearms and just doesnt seem to have the freakyness in his back that victor and maybe jay have so until he sorts out his weaknesses there I dont think he can win the O, he has some awesome legs, chest and delts but he would need his whole body to be that big to get crowned imo.

Jay has to come in with conditioning and not looking as watery as he has done a few other times, he looked good in 2001 (see pic) and obviously last year but alot of othertimes he has had something small that has just stopped him from being 100% and so stopped him from winning, so again he needs to nail everything.

Dexter just doesnt have enough size to hang with the other dudes imo

Cant really comment on Kai because Iv not really been that interested in him, has some good quads though.

I cant think of any others who have been ontop alot lately and are looking to take the O this year but maybe there will be a suprise...

jay i think wins more outa favouratism, ive never been a big fan of jay and never really understood how hes won so many comps, he just got something about his physique i think that makes him look odd, personal taste purely

dexter i think is a very unique oponent on the stage, although i dont think he can pull off another olympia ever agian unless he comes in some insane condtiona nd size suddenly, hes had his moment of glory IMO

ill agree with ya on Kai, i just cant see what people see in kai, he just to fuken weird and i personayl dont think hes body structure carrys his mass well

i got my heart set on phil this year, i rekon he got olympia or sumwhere in top 3, if he doesnt im gonna be fukin upset coz the way hes looking now he deserves the fuken crown

maybe jay becoz hes always up der, branch meh always got something to fix lately, the rest of the guys these days are strugglign to hold there symetry with the size there carrying

I think 1st place the main contenders are Kai, Phil, Jay and Victor, obviously Branch is up there but not sure I could say he is the best bodybuilder in the world unless his arms have made some massive improvements... I think they are all in for a shot. Kai keeps winning the Arnolds I wouldnt be suprised if he made some good improvements and came in and won it. Although I heard he has stopped working with Oscar Arden?

brnach does deserve his place hes in some freaky condition but hsi frame isnt holding his mass well enough to give him the title of olympia

Dexter absolutely deserves to be exactly where he placed. He earned every last bit of that. He chooses not to shoot enough GH to end up with 30lbs too much muscle and abs the size of rolling pins and obliques like bread loaves.

this is all true, but imo he just doesnt have the size or freakyness (except in his traps and bi's) to hang with the top 3. He is playing a differant game to what the judges and the fans are looking for. I think dex has had his moment and wont win again unless the judges drastically change their minds and start going for aesthetics over size.

he may look razor sharp, and great conditioning but in all fairness he isnt carrying the size to win olympias or be placing so high these days, and IMO there were guys who were in better condtion then dexter on that stage this year

he looks great, but there were better shaped guys on that stage this year

We lost our way somewhere along the line and started catering to the freak fans. That's unfortunate.

This guy was the most heavily muscled one on stage in '72. He was the freak fan fav...

but he didn't win. Because although he wasn't as massive pound for pound, Arnold was better.


In '83 the freak fan fav was brutal Bertil Fox. He was the only guy on stage that night the fans really screamed for during the routine. My father was at that show and neither Sammir or even Lee Haney got this kind of response. (pound for pound Lee didn't get as big as Bertil until '86) The audio pickup of the audience doesn't do it justice, but still you can hear them.



Bertil posed as bad as most of the top guy at the 2010 Olympia, and relative to the standards of his day, was every bit as jacked. But he didn't win, because the judges voted for the better guys, not the most muscular guy.

I disagree, if the competition is all about being aesthetic with nice lines then it shouldnt be called bodybuilding it should be called bodyfigure or bodysculpt or something like that

IMO size and conditioning should win it not aesthetics and beauty. Top bodybuilder in the world should be the dude with the freaky size and ability to get super lean to show it off not the dude who is "razor sharp"
