Yep.. Been saying it for a while now...finally decided to take the plunge! Doing my first Women's Physique show this April the 13th, just over 12 weeks away. Didn't want to take on the challenge alone, so I'm being coached by the great guys and gals over at DiZel Fitness Concepts. Great people with knowledge and personal experience, and I'm having a great time with them so far. Check them out...Dizel Fitness Concepts

I am giving this my all, and I plan on making a very dramatic transformation by the time the show comes along. When I get deeper into comp, I'll be posting pics regularly and let you guys really be part of the ride and experience.

The Training:
Much different than what I'm used to, and I'm super stoked to get started (tomorrow, January 17, will be day one with training). It goes like:
Monday: Legs
Tuesday: Chest
Wednesday: Off
Thursday: Back
Friday: Shoulders
Saturday: Arms
Sunday: Off

Each day will consist of a hardcore circuit, basically...several exercises all back to back, and I will complete 3 cycles. Gonna be one hell of a burn. Bring on the pain!

I will also be posting my daily diet, and log the changes the DiZel guys and I feel are necessary every few weeks or so.

The show I'm entering is a drug-free competition, so no gear will be used. When it gets closer, if we decide to throw in any stims, I'll also post about that.

That's about it...I'm super super SUPER excited, fully focused, and completely dedicated to this transformation and adventure!
:biggrin::biggrin::biggrin:

Day 1:

Today was an off day with training, but here is how the diet went.

Meal 1
3 whole eggs
3 egg whites
50 grams oatmeal with cinnamon & truvia

Meal 2
1 scoop protein
75g liquid egg whites
19g olive oil
300g orange

Meal 3
4.5oz chicken
2 cups fresh greens
.5oz olive oil and vinegar (dressing)
5.5oz sweet potato

Meal 4
Same as meal 3

Meal 5
30g protein
50g liquid egg whites
1oz natural peanut butter

I will change up the meats used, as well as maybe subsitute a carb for a carb here and there...but for the most part it'll be pretty uniform and pretty damn close to this every day. Nice and boring lol. Also, on training days, there will be a pre- and post-workout meal. Other than that...uniform.

Totaled up around 1.5 gallons water. Had it been a workout day I'd have BEYOND surpassed this

Tomorrow is day 1 of the training...also day 1 of school, so it's gonna be different carrying around meals with me, but hey, life of a bodybuilder, right? lol

I'll update tomorrow. Oh.. and have I mentioned how STOKED I am? ;)

Me too Psizzle! If I'm able that is. I still have work to do :) good luck at the shredder. I'm sure I'll see you there even if I don't know it's you. Enjoy!

Di zel fitness concepts looks pretty sweet. Is that all online?
For me yes because I'm in Texas and they're in NJ...not the first time I've had a long distance coach - needto coached me several times, so I'm no stranger to it. We keep in contact with routine updates...I like it. They're very attentive which is a huge plus, anytime I need anything it gets handled almost immediately.

I'm sub'd fo sho.

Your split is exactly the same as mine execpt the day off is between back and shoulders. One part per day and kill it.

Will there be AAS involved?

Dont forget before/after pics!
Good to have you my friend :)

Nope, no aas, as the contest I'm aiming for is drug-tested.

Similar split huh? As I said it's new to me, I'm used to stacking body parts...I'm going for an enormous cut though, not building a bunch like I did in the past. Really looking forward to this change.

Pics to come. ;)

Yeah, the focusing on one muscle group approach has me excited

Nope, no GH no peptides, nothing.

Cutting is definitely rough at the beginning...you know it's worth it though ;)

Yay Psizzle! Pumped for this log!!

How do they test for this show?

I always wondered what a competitor goes through both mentally and physically during contest prep. Can't wait to watch this!

How do you carry your meals? I used to use the 6 pack fitness cooler, it's pretty big but would work great if you're in classes all day.

Thanks for following girl.

Not exactly sure how they test...all I read on their website is that they test. lol :-/ so I'm not sure

And yes, I've wondered the same thing. I've always read and been told that competing/the prep is a very trying experience, but I'm ready. Guess it's because I'm so focused and committed, in the right frame of mind, but I've had zero cravings...I know we are JUST getting started, but in the past when id jump into a cut it would be rough.

I am lucky because on the days I'm in school all day (tues and thurs) I have convenient breaks that coincide with eating times...and I only have one meal to worry about carrying around, the rest are shakes. I have this little insulated bag that keeps my one actual meal warm.

Yeah, I'm from Austin so It would be for me too. I'm wondering if I should use a coach for the shredder myself considering this is my first time ever even trying a restriction diet. So far so good though. I'd love to hear about the coaching as you go through it. I guess need2 was pretty badass?

You're doing the shredder too?? Why aren't we friends again? lol

Needto is my buddy and trained me well. Introduced me to this whole crazy lifestyle. But it was time to spread my wings and leave the nest lol

Shoot me a PM dude lets discuss this

Lolol yep, it was cold this morning, cold to the point where I kept my shakes in my car so they'd stay cold, like my car is a fridge lol...the meal ended up being, eh, not as warm...lol. Luckily I had a break and went home to microwave it. The salad/chicken meal is my favorite meal, I'm constantly craving it!

I had ice on my windshield wtf
Me too. It's a good thing I lived in Oklahoma for a year, used my scraper to get it all off. Pain in the ass.

I'm sure the canadians are laughing at us right now at how we are bitching about ice on our windshield...meanwhile they're shoveling snow to find their car buried under an avalanche

You need to get a defroster installed on your car lolol. I'm sitting here in my truck with a wife heater and a hoodie on and wind pants.....its 22 right now. Kinda mild today.
(king of the hill voice) Say h-what? We ain't got them there fancy de-frosty-whatses on our model T fords...

...come on. We have defrosters. lol we are just fucking impatient and have bad tempers

LOL.. we had snow since Oct. It warm out today, but it's been as low as -40. :worried:

Day 1 of training...whoooooop!
Today was Back day.

I focused on keeping the weights relatively low, much lower than I usually do.

Bent over DB rows - 20lbs
Lay pulldowns - 70lbs
Seated cable rows - 50lbs
Straight arm pressdowns - 30lbs
Single arm bent over cable row - 35lbs
Repeat circuit 3x

...three exercises were omitted today due to douche bags taking up the machines...and one of them I've never been super comfy with...so next back day I'm throwing in some reverse grip lat pulldowns and some deadlifts.

As I said in the first post, it's a circuit...I did these all back to back, rested for a second (I mean a second) after the last exercise, then did it all over again with no rest between exercises. 3 cycles. Sweat city.

Diet:
Meal 1
Eh :-/ I woke up late and didn't get to have this meal. Scarfed down 2 eggs while I ran out the door.

Meal 2
1 scoop protein
75g liquid egg whites
19g olive oil
300g orange

Meal 3
4.5oz chicken
2 cups fresh greens
.5oz olive oil and vinegar (dressing)
5.5oz sweet potato

Meal 4 (Pre workout)
1 scoop protein
7oz apple

Meal 5 (post)
1 scoop protein
10pz cran-apple juice

Meal 6
Same as meal 3

Since I missed meal 1, technically only 5 meals. So in about an hour I'll be having my final meal:

30g protein
50g liquid egg whites
1oz natural peanut butter

Not eating my first meal threw my timing off so today was sloppy. I'll get used to it though. Tomorrow is my easy day with school so I'll be much more on point.

Water was around 2 gallons

I feel light as a feather today lol

Yeah they're nazis about IDs....just works for me since I'm already there you know?

yeah, I like WG but it's fukn overrun and you know my feelings about Exo..PH was good until they got some stupid crossfit for christ shit going and now you can't even breathe in there.

Might have to resort to the Rec again

Let's open up our own gym...fuck it

You KNOW how I feel about exo. Boycotted that bs place

Well the one in bmt has turned into a huge swingers club.

Let's go for a run there...together...hahaha

Solid workout today btw. Kill that shit girl!

You forget I worked at the one in MC...

It was all a bunch of scandalous shit. My mom's hairdresser went in the morning, her husband went there at night...as did his mistress

ExoScandalous.

What are we waiting for haha

So have you made your decision on running any compounds?
I posted in our rep area, hoping the head guys can provide some input.

Options:
1 Run it and stop a few days before, half-life is short so it'll be out of my system
2 Wait a few weeks and see if I even need it, add it in later
3 Dont run it

I probably won't run it. Don't want to risk it.

So great to see your log!! I'm really excited to see your progress. You're gonna kill it! :)

One thought for you...and probably goes without saying but just in case. Most natty shows have some sort of rules around use for at least 5 years prior to the show. Some go as high as 7 years. It's usually in the fine print, where ever they post their list of banned substances. I've been to shows where they'll polygraph if there's a question of use or at least threaten to. lol

More in the "for what it's worth" category!

Excited to see the changes and will support you however I can! :)

How the hell did I miss this? You know I'm in for this, my friend! You are going to kill it!

I posted an answer to your question at HQ, but basically you don't have anything to worry about. No current testing methods can detect SARMS, and they do not show up when tested for AAS. The only thing to worry about is if they do polygraph testing. If they don't you will be good to go girl :)

Good to have ya buddy :)

Yeah...I'm still gonna aim for the April 13 show, but worse case scenario if I'm not ready then there's a show May 4, only a few weeks after the other one.

Sorry sizzle haven't checked in a bit. Yes ma'm I'm 97% sure I'm going to. It is the goal if I can swing the registration fee. I know you can register now but I haven't checked to see if there's a deadline. I'm hitting some GW next week to help out.

It'll be under the show details somewhere if they actually do that. Not all of them do, so probably not anything to worry about. It's just something to consider for a natty show. People can get really weird backstage if you look like you've been juicing.

Yeah, the site mentions the test..

I looked at old winners...I don't see myself being much bigger than them. My arms are 11.5" now (7+ inches smaller than they used to be), and I will lose a little once I start losing bodyfat in them...I don't see myself looking like a monster compared to the others or anything.

Still gonna go though. March 25 is the deadline to enter without a fee...gonna assess my bod a week or so before then and see how I'm looking

Might make some changes tomorrow....been feeling way overstuffed and bloated, as you can see I only did 5 meals, having 2 of those salads had me feeling way too stuffed. We'll see

Girl, keep pushing at the food. You will get used in a bit and you need it. Gotta keep that metabo kickin'....doing great!

Interesting workout today.
Could you tell me a little about the light weights in the work out. I always lift heavy and am intrigued by changing it up.
Are you doing the reps slowly with a great squeeze? No rest between?
I've read your other threads and got the impression that you typically lift heavy.
What do you think about this style? For what goals would you recommend it!
Thanks! I'm enjoying the daily reads and inspiration!

I'm always flattered to see people come on here/pm me with questions and know that my threads are serving their purpose. VERY flattered. So first of all, thank you! :)

Second...yes, I have always lifted heavy. Got very big in 2011 and was heading towards bodybuilding because of my strength and ability to gain muscle so easily. I was unhappy, took an entire year off of lifting, lost ~7" off my arms, now I'm focusing on lighter weights. Not too light, but nowhere near where I was before. It's definitely a change, but the fact that I'm doing a circuit makes up for it.

When I do these circuits, I do each move back to back with no rest. I only rest at the end of the circuit before starting it again, maybe 30-45 seconds max, unless it's leg day then I give myself a little more time to bounce back.

While doing the exercises, I focus on the negative. Example: today with chest (I'll post here in a bit), I focus on pushing out hard, a tight squeeze, while lowering slowly, then repeat. Today I still can hardly walk, and my arms gave out today while doing pushups.

I definitely recommend trying it, it's always nice to switch it up. I have never done this type of workout and it's completely shocking my body. Im loving it! And as far as my goals, I'm going for a VERY drastic transformation. Lots of weight loss. I have a fair amount of mass still, so I'm thinking by the time I lose the fat around my muscles, I'll be looking nice with the muscle I'm clearly adding on right now.

Don't hesitate asking questions, girl. Ask here or shoot me a pm if you'd like. Glad to have you!

Your goals and mine probably aren't the same LOL!

I love lifting weights, and, for me there is a LOT of ego involved! As a now 44 year old woman, there is nothing like looking across the aisle at a man in his 20s and out lifting and our rep-ing him. I finally dragged my ultra fit marathon running husband to the gym with me 6 months ago. The man is amazing. He started at 6'1" and tried to maintain 165#s if he didn't pay attention, he would drop to 160 and look like a cancer patient. I pumped in full of protein shakes and bars and force fed him while he trained with me. In his first 3 months, he put on over 35# - and its all muscle. BUT when he started I could out-lift him and out endurance him on EVERY body part. When he passed me about a month ago, it really took a toll on my ego! (stupid huh?)

That being said, I have lifted nothing but heavy for 2+ years and I have struggled with fat loss.

I have another older thread describing this struggle, and am now experimenting (under physician direction) with T3 to attempt to reverse all the symptoms of thyroid problems -- particular those problems around the mid-section, which is a DISASTER!

I have done similar circuits - and they just destroy me if I kill the workout --- but I am doing them with heavy weight. I love the burn and the pump afterwards, but I wonder if lightening them up would assist in my trying to drop bf instead of only build mass.

My arm circuit - that in fact I will be doing tomorrow (tonight is legs) looks like this:
Biceps: whole circuit 2X
Seated dumbell curls 10X 20# (each)
Standing ez curl wide grip 10 X 50#
Reverse ez curl narrow grip 10 X 50#
one-armed Preacher curl with negative 10 X 35#
Standing ez curl 21s 1X60#

Triceps repeat circuit 2X
no assist bodyweight dips X 15
Skull crushers 15X40 with straight bar
no assist body weight dips X 15
cable rope pull downs 15 X 70#
no assist bodyweight dips to failure (usually at this stage in the circuit that # is about 17 reps)

Do you struggle with the ego part of it, or are you over that?

I have some great muscles - buried under a nice layer of fat.

The diet is definitely on point -- but I am still only averaging about 1300 kcals per day - but its extremely low carb and high protein.

Anyway -- thanks for being inspiring! If all goes well with some other parts of my path to better looking body, I have even daydreamed about prepping for a show before I turn 50!

The split doesn't look bad to me...kinda similar to what I'm doing actually

As far as ego goes, even when my arms were 18.5" I didn't have a big ego...I'd laugh at the guys coming over to try to lift heavier than me and end up hurting themselves lol but I was never really egotistic about it. Like I said I was very unhappy. I had that size, I'm 5'10" and had very little bodyfat. I was huge!

With this workout I am no doubt gaining a little muscle as I'm burning fat, I can feel it. I'm not lifting super light, but much lighter than I used to, so I will still gain a little.

As far as your diet...you need to eat to gain. Timing your carbs around your workouts is key, you have to give them fuel to grow. Low carb will keep you looking flat and deflated. Even if you are doing low carb, I'd still make sure to time some around your workouts.

If I were you, I'd hit my coach up. He's been great to me and can really help you...not only do they do contest prep, they also do different programs. Might work well for you.

Today was CHEST day.

Bench press - 65lbs
Machine pulley press - 60, 70, 60lbs
Cable fly - 30, 35, 30lb (each side)
Cable one arm press - 30, 35, 35lb
^^ I looked like an intense fighter doing this one, made people stop and watch lol
Push up with hands on bench
Machine fly - 60, 70, 60lbs
Repeat circuit 3x

Great burn. Kept giving out at the end when I was doing the pushups, great feeling

Diet:
Meal 1
3 whole eggs
3 egg whites
50g oatmeal with truvia & cinnamon

Meal 2
1 scoop protein powder
75g liquid egg whites
19g olive oil
300g orange
^^ Class was cancelled so it messed my meals up, made this my Pre-workout meal

Meal 3 (post)
1 scoop protein
10oz cran-apple juice

Meal 4
4.5oz chicken
2 cups fresh greens
.5oz olive oil and vinegar (dressing)
4.0oz potato

Meal 5
Same as meal 3

25min HIIT Cardio

Meal 6
30g protein
50g liquid egg whites
1oz natural peanut butter

Water is around 2 gallons so far

I second kittelmama's thoughts and you are inspiring for me too. Knowing you're working your ass off, makes me more motivated to keep going! So thank you! :)

When I first started training and getting healthy, I did all circuits. The trainer I had then really believed in them. I had a lot of newbie gains but was also probably in the best shape of my life. They would kick my ass now. Ego, for me, comes and goes but anytime I've let it get the better of me, I usually end up injured. My worst gym injury was a result of ego and took months to completely heal. Talk about learning the hard way. :)

I hear ya girl. And thank you so much! :)

I'm definitely working hard, not skipping a meal, not skipping a workout! Got my eyes on the prize for sure, focused and determined.

Today was an off day.

Diet:
Meal 1
3 whole eggs
3 egg whites
50g oatmeal with truvia & cinnamon

Meal 2
1 scoop protein powder
75g liquid egg whites
19g olive oil
300g orange

Meal 3
4.5oz chicken
2 cups fresh greens
.5oz olive oil and vinegar (dressing)
2.75oz sweet potato
5oz grapefruit

Meal 4
Same as meal 3

In about an hour I'll be doing my 25min HIIT cardio, then having my final meal:

30g protein
50g liquid egg whites
1oz natural peanut butter

Water is around the usual 2 gallons so far.

As you can see, per my coach, I made a slight change to my middle meals...decreased the amount of potato and added in a serving of grapefruit. I like it! Never had grapefruit before, I'm hooked. I don't feel as overstuffed and full now, and perhaps it'll aid in even more water loss as well.

Still can't walk right today after that leg workout Monday lol. I've missed that feeling!

It's going well. I wrote up a good little workout that I do on my treadclimber, it's a good one. Not used to such short durations but it makes sense to do it that way.

Only doing cardio 3x a week right now (also new to me), already did two nights, so I won't do another session til Saturday or Sunday most likely.

HITTs a killer!

You're rockin it girl! Super motivating to read your experience!

That's why I keep logs, because of the feedback I get. :) it's motivating for me to be motivating to others lol if that makes sense, sounded right in my head.

Today was Back day.

Psizzle, I have to ask, how the HELL do you get that much water down? I feel like I'm drinking non-stop all day, and I'm not even drinking half that much water! What do you do, live with a camelback tube in your mouth?

Keep up the hard work, girl. I know training for comps can be wearing, but you've got this.

Yeah...water is pretty much all I drink now. What I do: I use the same glasses for my water, they're about 10oz each. I drink 10 during the first half of the day and 10 later on, I average 2-3 per meal too so that makes it easy

Its definitely not easy, some days I forget my water at home (classes are back to back, can't go out to the water fountain every 5 minutes either), so I end up having to go overboard in a shorter amount of time...not to mention it makes me spend half my days in the bathroom lol...no other way to do it though. And since I've done this, I feel much lighter and leaner when I wake up in the morning.

LOL, your not in the "hi I carry a gallon of water with me everywhere I go" club like most of us?

No lol I could never do it that way for some reason. Maybe it's psychologically intimidating lol

My coworkers laugh at me daily. My work provides bottled water and each day I line up 10 17oz bottles on my desk. My rule: Can't go home unless they're all finished.
And, one diet coke (major weakness)

That's not a bad idea actually. Good motivation. As for the diet coke, I understand. Pepsi is my weakness. I haven't had ANY cravings for mine though. Challenge yourself to go 3 days without it. On the 4th you'll be fine.

Anyone know how I could get ahold of a bunch of I.V. Bags and catheters without stealing from a hospital? Lol I loved that we did this in the army quite a bit as practice. But what a way to hydrate!

Holy shit....

a) you look a lot leaner than in your older profile pics.

b) 204 now? Holy shit....how tall are you?

You are a big fucking chic

A) thank you! And yes I am. Wish those pics would go away lol
B) I'm 5'10" .. Even when I was at my buffest and lowest bodyfat, I was in the lower 190s. My goal here in this precomp cut is to get down to the 170s, at least the 180s. Haven't been in that range in years, but it's what I want, so it's gonna happen. It's in my genetic code to be huge and muscular, but that doesn't make me happy so I've officially begun a battle with my genetics

Well if you get your BF low enough so that you really are shredded you'll obviously be quite a bit smaller but you'll still be jacked.

Right. I know when you're super cut you appear to be bigger, but I'd prefer to be that way than just straight up big, you know?

I'm excited to see what the next 11 weeks holds :) won't stop there of course...but I'm stoked to see this transformation I want/have in my head come to life

Hey Psizzle, great updates and progress in here!

I've made a decision myself over the last few days to compete in at least one show in March if not both. I'm going male physique for now before going into bodybuilding possible next year just to get a feel for the stage, prep, and what not. I've just been blown away so much by how effective and awesome that GW has been, that I decided to go for this. My contests are on the 16th and/or the 30th of March so between 7-9 weeks away. My condition right now is very very good, so I think prep will be a breeze. Just thought I'd let you know that I'm starting prep now so I'm right there beside ya. :)
