I don't know how expensive dextrose is. The gatorade is around $4-$5 depending on where I buy it. I take it on workout days - 3 scoops - usually lasts 3 weeks or so.

you can buy dextrose from proteinfactory.com for 2.49$ a LB
the best thing to do is to mix dextrose with maltodextrin (50/50) in you pws

gatorade in powder is made from dextrose
 
In a pinch, you can use glucose tabs from most any drug store. They are pure dextrose, not to mention very tasty. Work well, they are made for diabetics to rapidly rise blood sugars on a dive. I use them all the time. Very cheap, can usually buy a roll for a buck or so. In the diabetic section in any Walgreens for instance, even Super Wal Marts carry them.
 
well i just buy corn sugar from the market ..hope thats ok ( corn sugar is dextrose glucose anyway)

5 bucks for 4 kgs

I have been having a cup of oats plus a protein shake PWO for several months now and find it superior to the simple sugar/protein shake combination.

I do however consume dextrose during and post-workout on carb-up days.
 
For those suggesting it, why dex and malt?

I just take dex. Is there a difference? better results from malt and dex?

splenda is maltodextrin. couple scoops on some oats, add some cinnamon, sliced almonds. hits the spot!!

couple scoops of splenda?

two things:

1. that would be VERY sweet
2. Not enough malto for what you are after, your typical male will need some 50grs carbs when cutting, 100grs when bulking. Imagine 50 grs of splenda, probably the whole box

You know glucose tabs have to work. They are designed for diabetics. My wife is a diabetic, so I know this info first hand. They come in fruit punch, orange, tropical fruits, and they now have sour apple I have seen. In a roll there are 10 I believe. I usually buy a bottle, Wal Mart has them, I would have to look at my bottle(in my bag in the car), but I believe it is 50 and around 4 bucks. It normally takes 4 they recommend for a diabetic, how many you take will be dependent on your pwo needs.

You can have a slower reaction(blood sugar rise) by for instance sucking on them rather than chewing them up real fast. Doing this will create a rapid rise of course.
