Post-workout meal while dieting.... should it be any different?

Should the post-workout meal be any different during a cutting phase, compared to a bulking phase?

I usually have a piece of fruit on my way home from the gym, and a glass of juice when I get home. Then I start cooking chicken, and eat a little bit of rice with the chicken.

Should this be any different considering I'm trying to cut up?
 
Thanks for the suggestion, but it's not an option. I can't afford supplements.... I have to get everything from natural foods.
 
you can get a 5 lb.s can of whey protein for 30$ (that includes shipping) from www.dpsnutrition.com from a good brand like Optimum Nutrition, or EAS......

That can will last you at least two weeks and as many as 4 weeks........assuming you take 2-3 servings a day......it's affordable, and I'd see if you could fit it into your budget.....
 
In my personal opinion i think the post-workout meal should be the same regardless of whether tou are bulking,cutting or maintaining.This 1 hour period after you workout is very important for growth and recovery and to add nutrients to the muscles that need them right away.

i agree with that. i suggest you get some whey protein powder (optimum tastes great and it's one of the lowest price wise) and dextrose (2 lbs are about 1.50) which is much better than fruit/juice (too much fructose, doing nothing to replenish muscle glycogen).
 
Both. Sometimes I'm working, so I can't get to the gym until the afternoon.... and sometimes I'm out of work, so I have all day to decide when to go. Could be morning, could be mid-day or afternoon....

.... it's kinda unpredictable.
 
OK. As a a general rule, you want to limit the carbs in the evenings. Meaning, if you're lifting in the evenings, you should use a lower-carb post workout meal. That will apply weather you're bulking or cutting.

For me, a true bulking diet isn't much different than a cutting diet. The main difference is the portion sizes. But your still eating a higher protein, moderate carb and fat diet. You're just eating more of it.

As for your fruit and juice, if I were cutting I'd do one or the other, not both, and in the mornings only.
