I always take Met-Rx. How come I never hear anyone taking Met-Rx?

too low on carbs. and has slow release protein. you need fast whey after a w/o. the low carbs are ok for cutting though....but still whey is best after the w/o. metrx has whey, but lots of milk/casein too. i take metrx 2 hrs post myself. but not immedieately after. no biggie though, at least you take something post w/o. some just go lay down. lol.

Thanks. I guess I'm "old-school." I was in college when Muscle Media came out with its first issue. Before that we used to get Bill Phillips' Anabolic Updates and we bought his Anabolic Reference Guide. If you remember back then, Met-Rx was supposedly great and part of the new "anti-catabolic" craze that was a result of the steroid crackdown and popularized things like Clenbuterol. Things have gone full-circle. Today, with all the juice, must be like the 60s or 70s for bodybuilding as far as availability of juice. No one cares about "anti-catabolism" anymore... no need to.

I've got to preface my answer with the fact that I've never cut (intentionally) below 10% bf.

With that being said, my choice of post-workout recovery meal while cutting is almost the same as my bulking post-workout recovery meal. That is, the nutritional ratios stay the same while calories may be toggled up or down.

Post workout, a high GI carb in a ratio of 4:1 with a quality protein is an awesome way to slingshot yourself into anabolism. Your body is in a position to dedicate the use of the nutrients and subsequent hormonal response to building lean mass. When cutting, I feel this immediate post-workout recovery of anabolic drive is especially important.

i just turned 31 and have been lifting since the teens. and metrx is still the best all around protein supp. it has whey for fast acting, and casein/milk/egg for slower absorbing protein. so your set for the immediate surge and for the 3-4 hour long run. but post w/o you just want to hit the whey, preferably whey hydrosylates (sp?). so i say metrx was ahead of its time since now everyone is like "slow acting protein stays in your system for such and such amount of time...amazing discovery"...lol. been around for a decade.
