Post Cardio Meal/shake ?

I realize how important the post workout shake is after a hard lifting session. However, my question is this: Is it equally important to have the post workout shake after a cardio-only workout. If so, should the shake be any different? Is it still important to get the simple sugars, followed by the whey/casein? Does anyone know?
 
I believe that after cardio, there is plenty of fat in the blood, which would lower insulin sensitivity (someone correct me if I'm wrong). I think it is wise to wait for 30-40 minutes to eat, then have some low-GI carbs and some protein --- this should be enough to prevent catabolism in my opinion.

This should be the same for high intensity cardio, because fat is mobilized post-cardio to replace intramuscular triglycerides metabolized during high intensity cardio.

This may not be true for sprints or intervals --- I am not sure.
