POLL: For Chest Exercises Do you like DB's or BB's?

I'm surprised there are so many DB lovers out there. I love 'em too, but I always thought everyone was into the classic barbell presses way more. I find I get way better pumps from the DBs compared to the straight bar, especially when going really heavy/low reps. Barbell presses also seem to wreak havoc on my wrists when going heavy and I can't have that cuz I'm a drummer...

I also like both but I perfer Barbells I guess because since I was 12 I had an olympic bench in my basement with just the barbell so I guess over the years I just became more acustmed to it

Ah, I still love doing barbell, especially on incline. I just hate flat.

Here is last weeks workout of mine.

Incline dumbell presses x 4 sets(2 are warm-ups)
Decline hammer strength x 3 drop sets
Elbows flared dips x 2 sets
Incline dumbell flyes x 2 sets
Pec deck x 2 sets
Cable crossovers x 2 sets

No barbells for me. Do what works for you though as everyone is different.

exactly....everyone is different.....i find with incline nothing beats a barbell but on flat i tend to use my shoulders so i like doing dumbells as i can isolate the chest as best i can

rotate

i rotae between dumbells1 wk and barbells the next, i feel this kinda tricks the muscle into adapting and then wham its changed again

I was a believer in dumbells for along time, but am currently using barbells to use heavier weights (based on the theory that heavy weights & compound movements = better).

All around I love dumbells, but am going back to basics.

DBs' i couldn't get thickness and good definition, until i stated using mainly db's.

Past month, i 've switched my chest workout to

4 sets of incline barbell
4 sets of incline dumbbells
4 sets of barbell flat bench
3 sets cable crossover.

Used to hit the flat bench more and flat dumbbell

Trying to work more on my upper pecs and get that chiseled Terminator chest.

I use both but use dumbells more often. I can't really say which I prefer, it just depends on my mood that day. Overall I guess I lean towards DB though. However, I do like working from the bottom of the lift (with seat at low angle) in a power rack with a bar.

I work chest 2x week for a total of 12 sets over the week. There is a primary chest day and a secondary chest day. Each day has 6 total sets (not including warm-ups); 3 push exercises, 3 squeeze exercises.
