I tried the SEARCH, and kinda got an idea.... but still weren't any direct answers because everyone already seems to know what it is.
I gathered that ketosis is a state of fat-burning, right? And a ketonic diet is a diet that brings you into that state. What are ketosis sticks? Are they like a test to see if your body is in ketosis? That's what I gathered.
If I've got it right so far, could someone please explain the fundamentals of a ketonic diet.... as I'm considering trying it.
The last two diets I went on, were low-carb, no-fat, high-protein.... and they worked okay. In fact, one of the times.... I cut carbs completely for almost two weeks, so it was no-fat, no-carbs, all-protein.... which probably wasn't the best thing for preserving muscle, and definitely wasn't the best thing for energy.
From what I've read, a ketonic diet seems to be very low carbs, moderate fat and high protein.... or something like that. I'm a bit weary about eating fat.... just doesn't seem right to me.... I'm not sure I'd feel comfortable about eating fat in the few weeks before I go on my beach vacation. But, I guess I'll give it a try.
Would it be worth using an ECA while doing a ketonic diet? And does cardio and weight training stay the same?
If someone could outline the basics of ketosis, I would appreciate it. I couldn't really find what I needed in the search. Thanks.
