Open line of credit? My brother has that, whatever it is, he can just walk into his bank and request 100k-200k and they'll cut him a check knowing he's got the assets to cover it.

Me too. It makes for A LOT of fucking junk mail. Whenever I go home and sort it out, the first thing I do is walk to the shredder with a Wal-Mart bag full of it.
 
LOL The check is a FAKE... that is why I asked if I could play "nutsack/clock_work" style.

My husband and I are now trying to help victims of scams and fraud, especially in the oil and gas industry to recover lost monies and shut all the crooks down for good

This check, however, was not from one of those scams but from scam that people unwittingly fall into looking for employment online. THE BANK thought it was real too, THAT is how good a fake it was.

People get scammed out of tens of millions of dollars every year and the crooks just change company names and set up shop next door to their old office and it is business as usual. Very few are ever caught of those less are made to pay pack the monies that they stole and of those even fewer ever go to prison for their grand scale thievery.

If ya'll only knew.

Petty-thieves get more time in prison than these scum who steal mind-boggling amounts cash and don't even try to hide the fact that they are doing it.

I got lots of bros in the mortgage biz lots of shadyness liek that goes on as you know. At the extreme a guy I knew went to prision for doing that to the point over 50million worth of loans he certified fell through when the people couldn't pay up... they started looking into why and found out he was inflating incomes like that... or had to have known about it ...

i know, it's insane. the lenders probably wanted to crucify him.

brokers and mortgage co's actualy have to buy back the loans if they are enough first payment defaults.

easy to ruin your company or self over 1 shady loan.

of course there's a large grey area as well...not quite as illegal and fraudulent as that

A friend of mine went from making over $500K/ yr to working at Home Depot because of fraud. If you're willing to do it, you can make a ton. People will find you and will give you business. It isn't worth ruining peoples' lives and credit. My conscious wouldn't allow it either.

My husband and I own an oil & gas funding company. We also are involved in catching and helping to have scammers pay back investors. It is so incredibly rampant and disgusting how openly they operate and continue to get away with robbing ungodly amounts of money.
