Patellar tendinitis

Hello:

I have had Patellar tendinitis in my right knee for years...
You name it I have done it....
I have even been to Co. and had a 3D motion analysis done on my bike by Andy Pruitt... Had mri's, endless hrs of therapy...straps, stretching, on and on

I got it from what I now believe was my seat height was to low while racing MTB....

Has anyone had Patellar tendinitis (jumpers knee) this long?
Any one had surgery to fix this (dusting of the knee)?

I would love the input...

Thanx ahead of time...

I hear you Man,

I got patellar tendonitis playing collage football. I beleive it was from jump squats and plyos. Anyway I complained to our trainers for two years. Finally I blew my knee and tore two ligaments. While i was having reconstruction they were taking the middle of my patella to make a new lig and it had calcified. Any way they said they scraped it off before they cut it out ( just the middle mind you) and after that it actually felt better than the knee that didn't have surgery( which also had PT) any way they told me once it calcifies its there and i asked it they could scrape the other and they told me there was about a 50-50 chance it would help. well they wouldn't do it but 5 years later I still have tendonitis even after doing nothing for about 4 years. If you hear anything that could help let me know. but if i had it to do over i would have made them scrape the other one. The can do it as a scope two so it would be min recovery time. I havent found anything else that helps. We might need to take this to another forum cuz i dont think many people will see it.

I had it for around 4 months as a result of going too heavy on hack squats, i had severe problems walking up stairs, driving etc . For me i rested my legs, didnt train them for months. I used regular icing and anti imflammatories, also used some equi block for pain.

My left knee has had it for years. Started flaring up bad recently. I cut out most quad work and have been trying Prolotherapy. Felt good after the prolo then started hurting again. Going to do prolo again.

I go back for another MRI Oct31st.... Then back to the OS a few weeks later.
He said he can scope it, but cant promise he can find what is causing the pain... Even though you can see it on the MRI, he said MRI works on water and even though we both see the problem it doesnt mean he can find it... So he said, when scoping for "pain" it's a 50/50 shot.... But if he can pin point why I am having pain before scoping it, it a 70/30 shot!!!

I look at it like this, I am going to race my MTB next summer, so doing so will only make it worse... me having it scoped is better then racing on it and not doing anything and it only getting worse. Now, keep in mind I have done EVERYTHING there is under the sun, so scoping it is better then just doing nothing and letting it get worse....
