Pasta lunch killing my workouts.

Hi everyone. I eat lunch at 12pm (Chicken Breast & Pasta) ½ an hour after eating I crash (badly) & the sleepy,lethargic feeling lasts for hours.The problem is,I can only train at 2.pm which means I am training half asleep,I’m really weak & not motivated to train.I go back to work after a crap workout miserable that I wasted my time but after a while the crash passes,I feel great again & then I am even more annoyed that I was so tired during my workout. I know the pasta is causing a spike in insulin & that’s why I am getting so tired.Is there any way to counter the rise in insulin so I don’t get tired? I cut back on the quantity of pasta but I am still getting really sleepy. If I ate rice with chicken instead of the pasta will I still have a rise in insulin & crash? Thanks for reading & I would appreciate any response.
 
IMO bro you should replace that meal for something lighter and move it to within an hour of training...something like half cup of oats , an apple and 2 scoops of whey.
See how that goes .
 
I think you should throw out the meal for something that will go better with your workout. You have to sacrifice to look good sometimes haha. Good luck, man.
 
Brown pasta tastes like dog shit.

It's an abomination imo.

Instead of eating that meal try eating an apple with a light protein shake and maybe some peanut butter and celery. Nothing too heavy.

Then enjoy the pasta later.

Eating a big carb meal first thing in the morning makes me sleepy as hell whether it's oatmeal or whatever.

Generally it's a good idea to not eat for an hour to 1.5 hours before a workout.
 
If you dont really want to quit , just start taking pasta at night . That will help you at least in having your full workout .
 
why don't you get a pita with chicken, or a steak and cheese, or a roasted chicken breast, or anything adkins? I'm always surprised to hear a bodybuilder talk about eating pasta. the two don't go unless its a cheat day..

why not? whole wheat pasta is a great carb IMO...you cant eat a box of it, i eat literally a handful of pasta, with a meal as my carb source. not alot of food but its a good carb imo
