Thanks guys so looks like I need to be patient and supportive. I have read up about steroid use and a lot of people say to run courses for up to 12 weeks ( not sure if this is correct) so if that's true over a year on will mean a bad crash.using steroids for a year straight is not a good idea if you ever want to properly recover.. expect him to have a rough time of it.. the perfect pct gives him the best shot but blood work will have to be ran to see if progress is made.
Yes. There is, in my opinion, little or no advantage to this staying on aka blasting and cruising or self prescribed TRT (as opposed to that scripted by a doc).
How old is he? How long has he been training and is he still lifting? These will factor into how well he'll recover.
In fact here's a suggestion: When I compete I do a cycle. At the end of my cycle I go and win (as in the last few times anyway ha ha). Now I know I won't be quite so strong 'off' as 'on'. And my body will need as respite from the competitive training so I deliberately ease back to 60-70% of my usual weights.
Those guys who stay on hate not being as strong off so go back on etc etc. But if they eased back on the weights anyway and worked slowly back up without steroids it wouldn't fuck with their head and their egos quite so much.
Yes that's the main reason he has stopped BP was through the roof. Thanks all of this is useful to know. Do you think he should crash completely before going back on? He has said if he starts to crash too bad he will just go back on maybe a lower dose ?

He should not resume the cycle if he will get crashed - he just needs to go along with the PCT. For a couple of weeks maybe three weeks, he will have a really tough time, but it will get better and better. Just be supportive, and don't take too close to your heart things he might say or his behavior - just understand that his hormones will speak out for himself.
If he has been on for a year, he is going to need to run a very good PCT to try and restart his natural testosterone production. I recommend the perfect PCT protocol -> https://www.evolutionary.org/forums/anabolic-steroids-peds/perfect-pct-simplified!-49252.html
The perfect PCT is arguably the best PCT protocol you can run. It is comprised of the SERMS clomid and nolvadex, the AI aromasin, HCGenerate ES (a good natural testosterone booster), N2guard (a liver/organ detox supplement) and the SARMS ostarine and cardarine.
After the PCT protocol, wait 1 month and then get blood work done. If his testosterone levels are below the normal range, then he will need to get on testosterone replacement therapy.

Fight through the 8 week recovery or stay on TRT . Long TRT with no medical supervision can be lethal. For example if he develops cardiovascular issues and they go unchecked testosterone at a self determined dose MAY only exacerbate the problem. The older the male individual is the harder it is to restart the HPTA after it has been disrupted. Run a solid well researched PCT and attempt to be normal again. Studies show that coming off long cycles is a bitch but look at my abs

I'm sorry but it will take longer than 8 weeks to recover.
if you are on 1 year straight it will take months to recover, not 8 weeks!!

It will be months, if recovery is even possible. Recovery is not always guaranteed and sometimes you are forced to go TRT.

Encourage him to ride out the PCT and try to recover natural test. That is always the most healthy way to use steroids. If he is not able to recover then it would be a good time to go on TRT.
Oh really I've heard all different from 4 weeks to a couple of months ..

it doesn't work like that. your HPTA can't go from being shutdown completely for that long to 4 weeks later magically functioning
the steroid esters are still in your system after 4 weeks so whoever said that is very ignorant.
only blood work will confirm recovery. your partner is going to need to be patient
Thank you I will encourage him as best I can I understand it must be hard for him but all I care about is his health so hopefully he will ride it out to naturally restart. TRT is that done by doctors or self?

Proper TRT should be prescribed and administered by a doctor. There are a LOT of guys on the forums saying they are on TRT but it's been self-prescribed and baring in mind your partner has been on 12 months he's kinda in that area.
