Pain in my left forarm bone when on preacher curls.

When doing preacher curls over 90lbs with either a wide grip or narrow I endure intense pain in my left forarm bone. (Same sensation as a shin splint) .

I was going to use some type of wrap, whereas, I feel that if you can't support the weight without some help you should not be lifting that much.

This problem has only developed in the last few weeks.

Any suggestions would help.

I have had this same problem...and it has gotten progressively worse. I think it is a forearm splint secondary to tendenitis in my forearm. It really sucks. I have found that covering it in Icy Hot and wrapping it tightly when I am working out helps to eliminate some of the pain. That is all that I have found that works.

Hope that helps.

Same here, I just either say suck it up or try a different exercise. Thats the only thing I know of to do. I had to find a different exercise cause sucking it up didnt work for me lol.

I get something similiar during BB curls. I found that by playing with my wrist position I was able to almost completely eliminate it.

Just a thought,

i used to get the same pain bro like years ago. but i dont anymore. i think its because of your form or something maybe. maybe you're putting too much pressure on your elbows.

Got it here as well on Seated Rows of all things with a close grip handle.
Feels like a tendon in my left forearem always...
Usually shows up on the 3rd Set
It sucks because I could go more, but can't handle the pain for more than a couple of reps past 6 on the third Set

With me...it wasn't the db curls that started it. It was the log clean and press. Pretty much everything hurts it now....even when I do a reverse grip on my deadlifts. It sucks....and sucks even more when I try to suck it up.

I have had something similar to this. It actually caused pain in my forearm and my elbow. I have a really tight forearm extensor that I massage with a trigger wheel. with regular therapy I can lift. It is slowly getting better, but not totally. I took weeks of rest and it still hurt. The trigger wheel has been a godsend. i got mine at www.elitefitnesssystems.com. It is a myofaschial release tool.
