Ouch!

I think you need to hit the basic nutrition books, girl. This isn't intended as a flame, but, do you really not know that coffee and diet coke will dehydrate you?

The idea of drinking a glass of water for every glass of other crap is fine, but that's just counteracting the bad. You need to do far more than that. Any athlete of any type should know that the most important thing before during and after any workout of any kind is water. I hate to bring it up again, but this sounds like a typical anorexic strategy for weight management. You need to lay off the diuretics, girl. And yes, you're going to gain some weight as your dehydrated cells soak up the water. I bet you'll look and feel 100% better.

I just did a google search and even the Beeb is saying that conservatively, people need to drink 2.5 liters of water...more if they exercise.

Drink up, girl

:)

You'd be astounded at the basics ppl don't know... myself included a few years ago before I got into nutrition. Like the fact that I need fiber, why, & where to get it. & the fact that I need fat, why & where to get healthy sources, etc. Then again, I work with the general gym-going public when teaching aerobics classes, so I tend to expect that ppl don't know these basics. Well.. doesn't help that the general media is constantly misleading them (touting low fat, etc.)

I'm still annoyed that in my high school I learned mitosis in biology class & the periodic table in chemistry class (oh, and that knowledge is so important & useful to me now  ) but never learned nutrition basics in an easy to understand & easy to apply manner.
