what do you guys think of my diet? good enough to gain muscle and drop some fat? what should my ratios be to gain muscle? carbs/ protein/fats what numbers. i know its at least 1.5g or protein for bodyweight right?

im in offseason football and just started my first 5x5, i have a log take a look at it. my goal is to lose some fat but ultimatley gain overall weight by adding muscle.
6'1 210 want to get to around 220 by august. by gaining mostly muscle.
any supplements i could add or changes i could make to my diet to help?

off the top, it's very hard to gain muscle AND drop fat at the same time. choose one or the other as your primary goal. considering it's off season, i would try to gain muscle. you naturally lose fat (and muscle) during the season.

anyway, drop the jelly. really, there's no reason for it. if you're eating jelly you might as well eat a candy bar. if you're using processed peanut butter, switch to anpb.

plus what are you putting on your cheese burger? what kind of bread? white bread has little nutrition and ketchup is more or less sugar. cheeseburgers aren't so bad if you use wheat or multigrain for some fiber and add a ton of lettuce and onions.

also, what kind of cheese? if you're using craft singles, you should switch it up, at the very least. buy cheese in blocks. it's more expensive, but for a reason. craft singles are processed with milk protein concentrate to keep costs low and it adds unnecessary sugar.

what do you consider a salad? just lettuce? more info is needed. plus you need to add better carbs and not just rely on bread. oats, rice, yams, and so on. and add more vegtables.

I agree. If you're going to use jelly, switch to a sugar free and go with ANPB. I would cut out all of the cheese, as it doesn't add the nutritional value VS the extra calories.

Where are you getting your beef for the burger? There is a lot of fat added to ground beef. Switch to turkey (99% fat free) or buy very lean steaks and grind them your self. You can keep a better handle on how much fat goes into your burger, plus, your burgers will taste a whole lot better.

If you are not using low carb/sugar free bread, switch over to it now. It's a multigrain bread, high in fiber, sugar free and only has 4-5 carbs per slice.

How do you make your chicken salad? Watc the ingreedients here as extra calories and fat can sneak up on you.

I would eat more chicken and turkey and less red meat. I would add in more veggies (borc, celery, green beans, cabbage, spinich, zucchini).

Add in some fish as well. Tuna, Cod, Haddock or salmon.

What about cottege cheese? Something to think of. Everyone does great their first week or two on a diet and then they get bored of eating the same things every day. There are a 1,000 ways to cook chicken and turkey, jump on line and find some you like. Good luck

im not using jelly anymore juts had it yesterday. the chesse i only use one slice once in awhile on my turkey or hamburgers. the hamburgers arent great they are frozen ones so theyre not that good for you, but i only eat them once in awhile. i usually have 2 turkey burgers instead. i have to find a wheat hamburger roll. my chicken salad is just lettuce chicken and some fat free italian. i usually eat alot of chicken but i had it all week so i decided to eat a hamburger once in awhile instead of chicken. i know i need to add more vegetables and i have fish usually once a week. the cottga echeese i relally dont like so i dont eat it, but i used to like it when i was little so i might try it again. i know there are alot ways to eat chicken and i usually do it was just that i decided to have a hamburger yesterday instead.

What are the protein, fat, and carbs? Did u work them all out? Its easier to understand and manipulate diets with raw numbers. Better than say "add a piece of bread and 2 chicken breasts". Understand?
