Okay Should I Buy A 2001 Mustang?

Warik said:

The Maxima was completely redesigned in 2000. That's probably why they are having trouble selling the 96-99 models.

Don't buy one, then. Your loss. =)

They were having trouble selling them when they were new.

Why is it my loss if I don't buy an ugly Maxima?

2Thick, have you heard of Slavoj Zizek?

I would like to hear what you think about his "Welcome to the Desert of the Real" : http://www.mii.kurume-u.ac.jp/~leuers/zizek-welcome_to_the_desert_of_the_real.html

Thank you for introducing me to such a wonderful read.

I can say that his article touches on the arrogance of the US in a very subtle way that leaves the ultimate question unanswered. How will the US react? The metaphors also created a deeper richer article than would be expected on such a re-hashed issue.

A simple, "No, I do not know what Marxism is", would have been okay too.

So...

1) Marxism is not a society based on the beliefs of Karl Marx?

And

2) Karl Marx was not an impoverished 33 year old with 6 kids and no job?

Just wondering.

I'm glad you liked the article.

I find that his use of mainstream films, such as The Matrix and The Truman Show (that were not exactly obscure European productions), in constructing the rich metaphors is rather ingenious. He makes it more "palatable" for us...hehehe... That in itself is such an indictment of mass consumer culture.
