I started having orange juice to hydrate myself while running but for some reason I have gained 4lbs instead of loosing weight , is it because of the oj? I have about half a gallon a day, thanks for opinions.

You had pint after pint of a fructose laden juice and you're wondering if that was what made you gain weight? LOL. Yes it was. That's a FKIN SHIT LOAD of juice

orange juice is a scam.

1. the vitamins and minerals from oranges are in the skin, very little is left after they extract the juice

2. the OJ industry is a billion dollar industry much like other industries like dairy, wine, coffee etc. that falsely market themselves as being healthy

3. OJ has a shit ton of calories so yeah you are going to gain weight from drinking it unfortunately

4. during the 50s and 60s orange groves popped up all over FL and CA.. the industry was making a lot of money cause everyone was drinking OJ for breakfast. now not so much and it is a dying industry

That. Nowt else.

Go look at the nutrition facts on a bottle of OJ, then look at the nutrition facts on a bottle of coke. They are identical. Yes the sugar in the orange juice is natural...but sugar is sugar.

If you want to eat oranges - that's cool. Just stick with the whole fruit. Not orange juice.

When you eat the whole fruit, you get all the fiber naturally found in the fruit. It's much more satiating and lower calorie.
