oatmeal vs. cream of rice... which is better

OATMEAL!!! Works best for me, plus tastes better. I can slam two servings of oatmeal and get about 50 carbs, then I chase that with a good whey ON's 100% ofcourse. I just cant do chicken in the A.M. Hard enough for me to eat breakfast as it is.

Funny, my buddy mentioned this EXACT question to me at work the other day. Until then I had never heard of cream of rice, i'd like an answer too.

I never understood people who could skip breatfast and not think twice about it. I'm ALWAYS hungry :RADAR . I actually look forward to breakfast. Morning cardio is hell for me. My stomach is growling during most of it.

Anyways I think Oatmeal would be better for that "heartier" fiber. I have no proof of that but it definitely helps me "go" in the AM.

I would say oats. They are slower digesting so lower on the GI. Have more fiber and are less processed that cream of rice. I had never heard of it either until my aunt was eating it and asked me if i wanted some.

Steel-cut Irish oatmeal is the best imo. They just make me feel better than cream of rice. More energy. Higher fiber content as well.

....I tried cream of rice, tastes like c.o. wheat to me. Also, more expensive.

Personally, I stick with reg oats and grits, both with onwhey vanilla. If it isn't sweet enough, try sugar free syrup. 99c store has grits and I think oats too. (more than half off from safeway or kroger). -

Cream of rice can be made from white rice, which of course is far from optimal

So I would stick to oatmeal
