The girl that manages our gym got this one somewhere online and made them last week. Tasted really good.

Ingredients

1 3/4 cups oatmeal
4 scoops chocolate or vanilla whey powder
6 egg whites
2 tsp brown sugar substitute (splenda)
1/2 cup un-sweetened apple sauce
1 tsp vanilla extract
2-3 shakes of cinnamon
1 tsp olive oil
1 tsp maple extract
1/2 cup raisins (optional)

Directions

Pre-heat oven to 325, spoon into 12 cookies as you would for regular cookies, bake for 20 minutes. 15 grams of protein per cookie.

Beat me too it. For some reason when I used the chocolate whey it tasted better. But the vanilla I used was ultimate nutrition prostar which is known to be pretty bad. Either way they taste great. You can use some sugar free maple syrup in their as well if you don't have the maple extract.

I would like to try this. Do you have to cook the oatmeal first or are you just using them raw? Also do you just mix all the ingredients above together? Like with the egg whites, do you have to chop them up?? Sorry I am a little confused. Thanks

They don't have to be cooked. Just combine all ingredients together spoon into cookies and toss them in the oven.

Anyone else try these yet? They tasted better with the chocolate whey than the vanilla for some reason.

These cookies sound great, im going to make some this weekend. Then Im going to eat them at school between classes. Thanks for the recipes, I post back what I think of them.

Do i need to put anything on the baking tray to stop the cookies sticking to it?

This means that they are healthy right?

Another question, this is just regarding oatmeal in general:

Is it safe to eat raw oats? I know for this cookie recipie it states you use them raw but they get cooked in the oven anyway.

What I mean is, say in the mornings I'm in a big rush and instead of making a bowl of hot oatmeal, can I just put raw oats into my protein shake, just blend it up and drink it? I honestly don't like hot foods in general for breakfast. I'd rather take a few scoops of my quaker 5 minute oats and just throw it in quick with my drink? Is this safe or do oats have to be heated up to remove bacteria/whatever. Thanks!

How much maple syrup would you use instead of the tsp of maple extract?

Thanks

Re Cooking Proteins: I doubt the cooked protein will have that much of a negative effect on muscle growth. This is mostly for a snack. Chicken and beef are all cooked protein sources, so I'd say not to worry.

Re the tray: You could spray on some pam on the bottom of the tray.

Raw oats are fine. If I'm late for work I'll pour some in a bowl with cold water and inhale it down as fast as I can. (Doesn't taste bad really. LOL)

Not sure about how much maple syrup. If anything use the fat free/sugar fee kind and add some last, mix and taste until it tastes good.

just got back from the market ans made the doe. once i pick my boy up from karate class in a few im going to make them. the mix seems kind of wet.

mine didnt turn out anything like oat meal rasin cookies.they formed something just like a microwave protein brownie. not bad but not really what i would think of a cookie. did i do something wrong?

this is kinda old topic but i just made this batch and mine too was kinda wet and hard to place on the sheet because they would spread. o well i'm actually cooking them right now. i will edit this after 20 minutes. i think 6 egss might be too much for this. maybe 4 or 3. we'll see

edit: yea... it did turn out kinda like thin brownie instead of cookie like. i will need to adjust the recipe next time. but a good start since it doesnt taste horrible still. haha. thanks

You could use some flavorless whey protein. Than it would taste like a reg oatmeal cookie. I'm going to make some up tomorrow, or maybe tonight :).

I made them using 4 eggs. Mixture was a little wet. They ended up tasting good, but a little dry. Might try less eggs next time. I ate the shit out of them cookies those. :D

First post. Been messing with different protein/oatmeal cookie recipes for awhile. Here's my latest evolution:

1 cup oats
½ cup quinoa flower
1 cup unsweetened coconut
¾ cup Vermont Natural peanut/almond/whey butter
1 cup organic frozen blueberries
2 scoops chocolate Whey Cool
2 scoop vanilla Metabolic Drive
1 tbsp of Udo’s Wholesome Fast Food
2 tbsp of Chia seeds
2 tbsp raw cacao nibs
¼ cup hemp milk
2 whole omega eggs
½ cup egg whites
2 tbsp of coconut oil
2 servings of Biotest Superfood

Totals: 3623 calories
217 fat
227 carbs
229 protein

I’d call it 6 servings, with roughly equal balance of macronutrients and about 603 calories per serving.
Divide up, put in refrigerator, and you have your no excuse, quick and complete breakfast everyday for the work week.

Directions: Preheat over to 350. Mix all ingredients together in small bowl. Prepare as bars or cookies and bake as directed

The cookie dough will be thick but still sticky. Drop dough by portion size desired onto a cookie sheet sprayed with non stick spray. Sprinkle Truvia on top of cookies. Bake 8-10 minutes. Although the dough is dark, you will be able to see a slight brown edge when they are cooked.
