NYC opens first public high school for Gays and Lesbians!!!

Whilst I was reading a lot of this mis-informed bullshit, one thing occured to me.

Statiscally, 49 per cent of 'straight women' have had anal intercourse.

I went to high school in NYC and as I recall anyone who do not break down to fit that particular year's idea of cool was teased.
The more independent or different you were the more you were ragged on. It was not a centralized gay student activity - any sexual preference was open game to be attacked.

Opening up a gay high school may provide a 4-year so called safe haven (I doubt it - gay people argue and fight just like straight people) but how will this student learn to blend into a new social setting, like college or the work force? How will he or she be able to deal with people unlike themselves in an adult and/or professional situation?

If people weren't so obsessed with sex and religion I would imagine this would be less of a problem.

Long Island is very unique - it is a suburban community that has the greatest acceptance of alternative ideals anywhere. This is probably why Long Island ranks #1 in Bodybuilding in the Northeast, somewhat close in rank to New Jersey.

I think that students coming out of an all-gay school will fare well in college. These students will mature after four years of a good education.

Children develop their sexuality at an earlier stage in their lives today. And I agree with you, these issues like sex and religion have become an obsession.
