no reverse hyper machine at my gym

If you have a power rack I have seen people put a board across the catch bars, lay on the board, and tie dumbells to thier ankles, and do reverse hypers like that.

My gym doesn't have a reverse hyper either. It should be illegal not to have one.

My gym is also lacking a reverse hyper - but of course they have five (!) different ab machines and at least a third of the floor space is dedicated to treadmills....

it does have a machine (don't know the name) with a platform and a rotating disk. the disk has an arm attached to it, you raise one leg while standing and hook it over the arm, then rotate the disk by pushing your leg back down to the platform. I've tried it with little results.
any opinions on using that machine? (besides the obvious problem of being surrounded by housewives and washboard-ab types in that section of the gym)

GO TO A REG HYPER MACHINE, GRIP ONTO THE HANDLES WHERE YOUR FEET GO ALLOWING YOUR LEGS TO HANG OFF AND UPPER BODY ON PAD. IS DIFF TO HOLD DBELL BETWEEN FEET BUT IS OK WITH SPOT.

All you cheapos out there should just stop spending all your money on smith machines, pink dumbells and stop supporting pussy gyms and go find someone with one or go buy a reverse hyper!!

Not everybody

Has a decent gym in their town. My town used to have three gyms, one had decent equipment and a great strength freindly atmosphere. Heck they'd not only allow chalk, they'd supply it if you needed. The Assholes had to go out of business. Best damn gym I ever belonged to.

So now I lift in my basement. I built on of those reverse hypers for my rack, with the chains so that I don't have to strap a damn 100 to my feet and hope the bastard stays on. I do need to get a glute ham raise bench though.

I am thinking of joing a gym in another town about 30 miles away, but I hardly want to drive that far each workout day. But I am thinking of it because the other gyms in this town suck big donkey dick. One has no squat or power rack only a smith machine. Oddly enough it does have a couple of 100s for the leg press. And the other gym is owned by a prick who won't let you use chalk or alot of the other activities you'd like to do as a powerlifter. He'd probably shit if I did my rack pulls in his power rack. I'd get thrown out of there in no time. It'd almost be worth it for shits and giggles just to push to see how far I can push him.

this is the only thing i dont like about the whole westside thing.

this is the most f**king brilliant piece of gym gear.

it costs so much money....i live in australia can you imagine the postage on that thing? (i ordered 179$ worth of videos, on top of that i had to pay 90$ postage US)

now in the reverse hyper there is about $50-$100 dollars worth of steel...and im being liberal here. im my home town i can get the machine fabricated and built up to the standard of the strongest in the series for about $200 AT THE VERY MAX.

I guess because its a patented product it cost more......i dont want to get one made and tick louie off so he hunts me down and dead lifts me too death.

im caught in a bind people.

apart from that westside rules.

We made one that works awsome. We upholsterd pad over a board that slides into the power rack , welded a t shaped bar with weight holders on them and use a strap to tie to our legs. I cant really get into detail to much its hard to explain with out a picture. But it cost 100 to 150 bucks mainly because of the uphostry. Golds Gym wanted it to match the reast of the equipment. Which is good cause the pad is soft on your gut. My gym owner sprung for the upholstry. I do have to plug in i have the best gym in th eworld. I have a good team of guys to train with , you would be amazed at the shit we have welded and made. The owner doesnt mind at all. Very powerlifter freindly!

Jay,

Think I could get a job in your area? Would love to train down there with you guys, but have this pesky problem of trying to keep the wife and kids fed. I personally don't know if the baby is really being a team player. She just doesn't seem to be pulling her weight.

You get a job down here we have a spot for you on the team! Listen just cause they bitch a little doesnt mean she isnt supportive. Mine bitches about it sometimes, less now then back then. But when you look back at all the years and time that goes in it you really see there pretty supportive after all.
