Nicotine/Chewing bad idea?

got2getripped

Hey I just started a cycle of test cyp and dbol and was wondering if it would be really bad for me if I chewed tobacco while "on". I've been chewing for about 7 years now and it's way hard to stop cold turkey.

Also anybody here smoke or chew?

It CERTAINLY isnt helping you at all :o

I am miffed that you even have to ask this question :worried:

Dont you know that smoking cigarettes is probably THE SINGLE worst thing you can do to your body :( (if you dont believe me ask all of my dead cigarette smoking relatives who died from lung cancer and emphysema...Oh wait, you cant ask them :()

Well I don't smoke I chew! Well anyway your probably right It definitely can't be helping me at all. I've never seen this question raised though and would like to see what feedback I get.

I dip, and the only time i stop is the last few weeks of a contest diet. Smokeless tobacco will decrease your appetite and when you're trying to stuff your face every 1.5 hours, thats the lasy thing you need. Plus, i turn into an asshole if i haven't had a dip and that helps me in the gym. No it's not good for you, i would say that it's better than smoking, but not much. But, you live and die by the decisons you make...so be it.

I am sure it is nothing close to smoking, I know lot's of bodybuilders, some professional, that are the most unhealthy guys around. Smoking a couple packs a day! You can't say chewing is good, soo the only answer is that it is not good. How bad is it? Who knows, it's a subjective answer. It's a choice like anything else. Is it worse then eating fast food, processed food, or drinking soda?

Chew or Snuff?...If it Levi Garrett or something...I wouldn't really worry...except for mouth cancer...If it is snuff...like Copenhagen...the nicotine level is SO much higer...I would just avoid other stimulants with it.

Hey man. I quit an 11 year habit of copenhagen 4 days ago. If i was on a cycle right now, there is no question I would have tried to choke at least 2 or 3 people. I ordered some nicotine gum (4mg) from ebay, but it still hasn't arrived. I honestly think the gum will help a lot since quitting dipping solely contingent on your need for nicotine--unlike smoking which also involves ceasing the compulsive oral fixation.

BTW, the gum cost under 60 bucks for almost 400 pieces...way cheaper than name brand "Nicorette", and the feedback on the seller was full of praise for the taste. Anyway, if I can quit you can too.

$4.75/can, 1 can per day...that's $1734 per year.

WOW Term, touch on a sore subject? I feel your pain bro, i have no grand parents, all died from cancer.

get ripped, the thing you have to worry about is that the added danger is complied onto anything else you are taking. I chew but i won't chew when taking DNP because when i chew i don't drink much water plus I'm spitting all the time so the parnoia says not to chew with DNP because of dehydration. Just my $.02

I dip... it sux. I try to quit all the time... the gum never works... I always go back. It's the worst addiction I've ever tried to overcome.. and this is coming from an ex-coke head. I have never heard any scientific explanation of why it might affect your work outs except for this fact: nicotene constricts your blood vessels and heightens your blood pressure... neither of which are beneficial to recovery... when your blood needs to freely flow through your veins delivering nutrients to your muscles. And smoking after a workout robs your body of MUCH needed oxygen to your muscles (this is because cigarette smoke contains carbon monoxide which the body likes more than oxygen).

So the bottom line is this: we're nicotene addicts, it sucks, chicks hate dippers, it gives us mouth cancer, and if we don't quit, it will kill us. Have a nice day.

I would have to say dipping is the hardest thing I've ever had to overcome I havn't had a dip in 2 days and it sucks. I know just what you're talking about superdawgy I always crave it more towards the end of the day and now that I don't have it, I turn into an asshole. Also I noticed I've been eating a lot more these last couple of days which is bad, I don't want to gain any fat.
I would try the gum ,but with my luck I will get addicted to the gum, so I think I'm gonna just try and tough it out. Being a nicotine addict sucks ass wish I would have never tried it. The funny thing about nicotine is how it will make you feel like shit at times and you will still do it again, that just shows how addictive it really is.

Oh sweet Kodiak how I will miss your fresh wintergreen goodness :(

Getripped, not that dip is as healthy for you as eating your vegies, takeing your vitamins, and saying your prayers but..... there are many, many professional athletes at every level of the NFL, MLB, NHL, WNBA?, that use smokeless. IF anything it may cut your wind by a fraction but I doubt you would notice.

Waite.....this is a bodybuilding forum right? Your telling me that the numbers for the abuse of these drugs in the NFL etc. are higher than BB. What vacum are you living in? At the very least the professional leagues have LEGITIMATE drug testing programs and consequences for thier violation. Not the token programs imposed by the IFBB and other bodies. Someone watching a few to many reruns of "Playmakers?"

How about you just read: "The bottom line" of my post then and dont try and start a flame war with me ...I dont have the extra time or patience to put up with that kind of stuff...

Thank you for your understanding :)

I'm not a pro BB'er (or EVER aspire to be :o ) so I couldnt tell what kind of programs they have for testing (and honestly I couldnt care less...)

But from the 14 posts you have made I can see you are having little trouble making friends around here already

if youve seen the amount of jaws missing that i have then you would have laready stop do a search on it and look at some pics of surgeries just to see of you could take it when it happens to you have you tried the natural stuff? that gives kind of a buzz and has a good taste to it? try using that on and off to swithch on or combine the two then totally switch to natural.
but yes its ok to chew while on and nicotine speeeds up fatloss when your at your last line of weapons before a contest, and not wanting to tell you but 4 years back it was the big buzz to chew nicorette gum while doing legs some dipped since a recent study showed that it increased strength, taken at a certain time spiked ephindrine release, then you may remember after that came the inhaler use before heavy sets
later

I had a hell of a time quiting the chew did it off and on for a few years...
It interfered with BB'ing gains IMO. (It will initially help you burn FAT but the effects a re blunted after a while.)
Nicotine gum has been used as an ergogenic aid by some but I find it far too toxic.
I did nicorettes for a while too..chewed a couple of pieces a day after large meals.
I started to get chest pains and quit, went to the cardiologist and got checked A-OK..he told me Nicotine was a posion and very hard on the heart itself. :mix:

red karma is our freind good broly:D

i quit smokeing in jan so i'm comeing up on a year but you have to want to do it. people who say "it's not the right time" or "i need to wait until i have a little less stress" are kidding themselves. your life will have stress no matter what. i quit on deployment in iraq, now do you think i had a little stress there? well yea i did but i wanted to quit that bad. i smoked for 15 years and worked out just as long but could not help feeling like an ass working so hard and putting that shit in my body. my tip is to use the nicotine patches they really work, they bring you down slowley and break a lot of the habit associated with smokeing or chewing. good luck.

I have quit dipping since this thread was started. The first week was hell, the second week was worse...but, if you can make it to the third week, CAKE WALK! Here's the dealio...i've tightened up a great deal since i came off. I'm not sure why, maybe because i'm eating more frequently. This is coming from someone who has dipped at least a can a day for the better part of 12 years, so don't tell me it's too hard. That which does not kill me only serves to make me stronger.

i chew'd for a little over 6 years. i tried everything to quit with no luck finally i thought it would be a good idea to pick up another habbit so like a retard i picked up smoking. i've been smoking for about 3 years. it was the worst thing i ever picked up i guess you can say the good thing about it is that i haven't chewed for 3 years haha. i was reading something about chew vs cigarettes and they said a can of chew equals 60 cigarettes... either way both are bad, but you can't give people second hand chew!!!

My pops has been chewing skoal for about 30 years he still has all his teeth and no nasty signs of gum disease or mouth cancer.

I used to chew and my brand was kodiak. There is a big difference in kodiak and skoal. Kodiak is much stronger. Kodiak would eat away at my gums much more than skoal. I would recommend switching to skoal and then gradually work your way off of it. The gum works well if you only use it when you feel like you must have a chew.

I noticed a big difference in the way I sleep. I feel much better in the mornings after quitting. I get better pumps in the gym since I quit too.
